Brilliant - there's no subject Joe Bob can't pull an entertaining dissertation off the top of his head for, is there? (along with slipping in a little France and LA bashing π)
2022-11-13 23:41:31 +0000 UTCVery Cool! She'll love it! :) (Nice little town too - when you get off the highway...) And Thank You, Sir! I will now be looking out for a chance to try Kaiserschmarrn! Looked up some pics - it looks DELICIOUS!! (Many German settlements here - I regularly visit a place called Fredericksburg, and I'll be on the lookout for it there! :)

2022-11-11 17:26:00 +0000 UTCOh wow - I have a niece living in Waco. I'll have to send her up to the Czech Stop! Also, there's an Austrian dish that needs to make it to the States called Kaiserschmarrn. So good...
2022-11-11 16:30:48 +0000 UTCGREAT questions, John! LOOOVED this post (and the pic - Thanks Darcy! Sadly, I'm still in therapy over missing Memphis, and my engine that blew up just outside of Malvern, AK, still hasn't been replaced... Mostly, because I missed out on a panel for one of my ATFaves, but also, because I hate breaking my word - I said, "See you in Memphis" when I saw you at the Texas Theater a week before, and alas - not meant to be... But I digress, and Better times are COMING... :). I've been in Texas for 6 years now, and I Loved the examples JB gave for the local specialties... of these, (for me) the clear winner is KOLACES!!!!!!!!!! OH MAN - what wonderfulness has fallen on the Earth, by the Grace of God and the hospitality of our Czech cousins!! John, if you find yourself ever travelling through WEST, TX (name of the town - south of Fort Worth), you MUST visit the "Czech Stop"... looong lines, and for good reason - you'll likely never find more Kolace Awesomeness in one place, anywhere! When I'm heading South, I try not to miss it! Loved the Halloween Special, and Looking Forward to seeing y'all again Soon! All the Very Best, and HAPPY TURKEY DAY, EVERYONE!! :)

2022-11-10 22:33:28 +0000 UTCYes! Some convenience store chains have them too. Almost like your getting a cup of soup. Ladle and all, lol. And if youβre like me and love your wet nuts spicy, I recommend the Cajun flavor.
2022-11-10 21:56:20 +0000 UTCAnn Arbor's chili cook off disqualifies anyone who uses beans.

2022-11-10 18:43:05 +0000 UTCCanned ones like that arenβt as good, to be fair. The freshly made ones people sell on the dude of the road are where itβs at.
2022-11-10 18:42:01 +0000 UTCNot my neck of the woods, but in Georgia, they're "bolled" peanuts. And they're...I don't know quite what, exactly. Premature peanut butter?
