Chinese Zodiac .Rat. (term 43)
Added 2016-11-24 01:43:06 +0000 UTCStarted a new series for the chinese zodiac, I' honestly still not sure what direction to go so this is an experiemntal start XD. I'll be painting them in order so Years of the Rat goes first. i experimented on the lighting in this piece and went with a brighter background against a darker character :3

2016-11-25 22:05:19 +0000 UTCYou have some really interesting ideas for series of paintings. This is a cool "successor" to the female Horoscope series that you've done. This is a great start to the series; it is very pretty. I like the way you integrated the rat animal elements into her design. Specifically, how you styled her hair into the shape of ears. But also giving her pink eyes and white clothing to resemble the white mice she has with her. I love seeing her darker skin tone against the brighter background; makes her stand out a lot more. The shadows the lighting creates are really interesting as well. Overall, this is very beautiful. Can't wait to see how you handle the rest of the Zodiac members.
