Gunboat texturing
Added 2018-09-07 06:02:49 +0000 UTCHere is a first look at the texturing of the gun boat. I have noticed a couple of things I want to change on the sides, but I like the general direction. The upward bending of the planks was too much, so I will make the curving a little flatter. It looked too squeezed!
For now I have just focused on the sides, so I will add more details to the deck. Where the mast goes will be an indicator and also some grates.
Here is a look at the stern. For easy build you can do it like this, but it will look a little better when you cut out the black parts of the rail. But there will be options to make it filled with wood as I have also seen boats like this.
I did a quick test how many minis I can fit inside the boat! I'd say that's a full crew :-)
And finally - so you can get an idea of the sizes - here are all the boats so far in comparison:
For texturing options, I will add layers so you can customize the colors of the main wood and then the "lines" of railing and on the sides. This will result in the thousands of possible looks I love!
Now I need to work in my corrections and then start with the mast/sail/rid section.
