Sloop and more ...
Added 2018-10-05 07:58:50 +0000 UTCYesterday I talked about the sloop for next month and I thought I'll share what the development looks like right now.
I have been working on the geometry and made a first prototype. It's not perfect - I want to extend the stern a little longer - but it shows the overall look of the next pirate ship. As you can see, it will be the first of my ships to feature gun ports for cannons!
This build was at half scale, meaning 15mm instead of the usual 28-30mm. The reason being that the ship parts will be longer than a single page. Because of that I build the prototypes so that the parts will fit and I can bother about splitting up later, once the geometry is finalized.
Another model I want to work on this month is the big hut for the Savages Settlements series.
Remember the first building?
For a while I have had this sitting on my desk and for a couple of reasons not be able to continue. So last month I made up my mind and announced some friends, that I will make an effort to break through my block and get the big hut done!
The roof is basically done ... for a while now. Just have to find a texture for the walls that I am happy with. I don't know why this particular model has been such a challenge for me, but I will be especially happy once I have this one finished :-)
