Dealing with a huge Wako deck

I have assembled a first deck prototype in scale for 28-30mm figures. As you can see, there is enough space for structures and battles! The structures will also be removable, so you could add variety in your Wako fleet by adding different configurations of the towers and house to each boat.

This version is the easy build where one does not cut out the spaces between the extruding bars on the sides and stern. I will build an advanced version once I have sorted out all the small problems I have identified.

One thing I have noticed is, that since my Adobe Reader updated, I get some artifacts, like the darker areas on the borders. These obviously should not be like this.

When I looked at the research pics I found that the bow railing is going all the way to the front line of the bow. I only designed it to go as far as the extending bits. So I added a slot to insert the railing and it has big room for error as it is so close to the edge of the deck. To compensate for that I will add more "border" frames, so the insert space is safe.

This deck is prepared for the removable railing. I will build the front side removable and the back side fixed, to test both versions.

You can guess, what I am going to build next :-)

Happy building,

Chris
