Honing in on the basic court yard house

I have been studying (and finding more) references for the court yard houses and am working on locking down the geometry and the basic texture patterns.

This sketch above is a more decorative look for a wealthier neighbourhood. I will also make a more simpler look too for the average settlement. One thing I want to make possible is to have a very simple 2D column that you can slide 4sided or round columns on for advanced look. Oh ... and fold-flat will be a challenge too :-)

I plan to three different "depths" versions with two length variations. That's not so many buildings but enough to allow for a lot of different court yard layouts. More on that later.

Kitbashing ships

The other day I mentioned the "good space" to elongate the ships. Here is a pic for the (upcoming) brig geometry, indicating the planes that are parallel to the axis and thus the best place to insert parts to make the ship longer.

The same is true for the sloop as shown here...

Now I am thinking about adding some insertion parts for each boat at a later stage, to make the kit bashing a little easier. In any case I will keep an eye on this while advancing the brig!

That's all for today :-) Until next time, have fun and keep building!

Blender is awesome. It's free and the things it can do (3D, 2D, video editing etc) are just amazing for a free suite!

I like both! Also I like a lot you work in Blender. I am 3D artist, videogame and animation stuff and I am always fighting to introduce blender in high profile productions :D. Well done!

Either that or that one would add an "elongate" insertion part (if I or someone else makes one).

Do I understand you correctly that the highlighted image section *is* the section to replicate?
