Upper deck details

Here a view of a rough easy build of the stairs and railings. The upper deck railing is too wide in this shot, because I am making options for the stairs to be 1" wide for mini bases and also a more narrow but realistic version if you are going for good looks :-) Here the upper railing is for the narrow version and the stairs are the 1" ones.

For an advanced build I would cut out all the black space in the railings but for this test it wanted fast over detail!

The cannon will fit under the stairs and when the gun ports are open not be in the way of the door! :-)

With the development of the stairs I also went back to change the cabin wall texturing so it will better merge with the stairs.

Here you can see that the vertical bars match the stairs width locations. I also added simple climbing stairs if you want to omit building the 3D stairs as a very quick solution.

Sloop updates

During some building the sloop of a friend I was made aware of some minor "bug" (missing color options for smaller details etc.) that I have fixed and updated in the dropbox. To get them go back to the dropbox folder and download again. It is the hull file and the new one has a V2 in the name. Also the cutfiles have been updated for LVL4.

In the process of the test building I realized that the instructions don't cover all the pitfalls that could happen so I will make some additional instructions with tips that focus on what to watch out for the hull build. Has anyone built the sloop hull yet and had problems? It is very simple if you know how but might not be that clear from the instructions provided.

If you have feedback on this matter please let me know so that I can add all info that you guys might need to make this a fun and rewarding building experience.

Dropbox spring cleaning

As stated in the FAQ I can only have the dropboxes active for some time until my overall space limit is reached, so I will clean out all the dropboxes from 2018 next month. Please make sure you have downloaded all you need (esp all the catchup folders from last year) as I will delete them all to recover space.
