Brig masts and ratlines

I think I have completed this stage now. Here's a pic of the first prototype with the new masts and ratlines. The first mast was a bit of trial and error and took some time to put together, but the second one went very smooth.

This reminds me that I should make a "special tips and tricks" document for all the ships. One thing I recommend is that you start with the small boats and work your way up, because you learn the things to watch out for and then the big ships are easy to build.

I went for this type of crows nest because the ship that is the main inspiration for this brig, the Lady Washington, has the same but I will try to make the round ones also. This type works very well with minis. It has space for 3x1" base minis. So you could even have some fighting action up here! :-)

Next up are the sails. I have figured out how I will attache the square sails and need to try out which sizes work well both for looks and also for page fit.
