I have completed the texturing of the square sails and used the previous ones to complete the prototypes rig.
Attaching the sails is not polished yet. I am trying out different options and have not found one that I am 100% happy with. Also the jib sails (front triangles) are not attached properly. I have just "placed" them carefully without attaching them, so I can take a pic :-) They will need adjustments of sorts for the final assembly.

For the square sails I have added the rigging on the top which holds the yard (horizontal beam) in position. This is the easy version. For the advance I would cut out the black space between the ropes!
For the curving I have found that a general curve and two side curves on the bottom edges will do fine so I don't have to construct 3d curved sails. This will be a huge time save both in development (for me) and assembly (for you).
How do you like it so far?
I will go on tinkering on the square sail attachment and start the weathering of the sails. And finally I will tackle the new deck structures (double wheel helm and vertical capstan).
Until next time, have fun and keep building!
Chris
