Basic Bits: Easy 3D cannon

In May I am giving you the cannons as this months free basic bits!

And I am starting today with the easy cannon build. They are fast to make and you can fill up your ships deck (or coastal fortress) real quick with them.

But if you want to build the advanced version, they are coming too soon. Yes, I am bombarding you with more than one piece this month! :-)

If you want to thank someone, thank my Patreons who make this possible with their support!

In thanking them I will give them the same with a little more options (to add and to hide), so if you like my work consider joining :-)

For $1 a month you can join my first tier on Patreon, where you get these advanced options included and support me in building more paper models for you!

I hope you enjoy these little bits and I am looking forward to see how you use them in your next adventure.

If you like this, help spread the word and let the world know about Papierschnitzel models!

Until next month, have fun and keep building!

Chris

I would go with the 65# then. The folds could "break" with the 110# version.

65# or 65 pound paper is 176gsm which is much lighter than the 110# or 110 pound which is 199gsm paper which is normally in my printer tray. That might not seem like much, but when you stack 150 sheets side by side you can really see a difference. It folds differently, too.

I am afraid I never understand the lbs numbers. For this one I used 160gsm (grams per square meter) which is double of regular office/copy paper (80gsm). But as there is nothing tricky in the geometry one could use heavier paper too.

This is a very nice little kit. I have one question. What weight of paper do you recommend? I think 100lbs. might be a little too heavy, Would 65lbs. be better?
