Quick update: cut out fence
Added 2019-10-20 05:36:55 +0000 UTCI wanted to try out how the fence would look with all the in-between spaces cut out.
I tried it with my auto-cutter but - at least for me, I heard others believe it would work, it just tore most of the small sections rather than cut it clean. If I get pics from others with an auto-cut version I will post them.
So I went to manually cut it all out. Turns out it's actually not that difficult as I thought and goes very smoothly. It does take a little time but I just throw on something to listen to in the background. This gate took me about half an hour. Just make sure your blade is sharp. Good time to replace the dull old blade :-)
Will that inspire some of you to build it like this?

Two layers of stronger cardboard with white glue and a good nights dry time make this surprising "sturdy". Still, one has to handle with care because the pointy tips can bend easily.
