June Update!

Hey everyone, just wanted to stop in and make a quick update for June (even though we're already a third of the way into the month)! Things are going pretty good around the Hunter household. My niece graduated highschool a few weeks ago which was a huge accomplishment, and my eldest niece and sister came into town from Denver to celebrate. Had a great time, though I wound up with nasty head cold (though definitely not Covid or strep, which was a huge relief). I'm on the mend, though, and excited that the world is starting to open back up.

The misses and I have been hunkered down for the better part of a year and a half, but we will be venturing forth to the Imaginarium in Louisville, KY which runs from July 9 - 11th! And (assuming that it actually happens) we will also be at DragonCon in Atlanta, along with a ton of other amazing Shadow Alley Authors. DragonCon is always our biggest con of the year; we'll have a large booth, tons of books, and great swag. It'll be a blast if you can make it out.

I've also been writing like crazy!

Shadowcroft 2 is almost done--in the home stretch now--and should be wrapped by the end of the month. Bibliomancer 2 is done (at least on my end) and with Dakota for editing; not sure when that is going to come out, but I'll continue to post chapters three times a week here on Patreon. VGO 8 is coming along nicely, about a quarter of the way through the book and  really cruising nicely. I'm having a blast being back in the VGO universe and everything is coming together; I think Empirical Endgame is going to be a great capstone to the series. Really something I can be proud of and that I think folks will enjoy. I plan to start posting chapters for VGO 8 toward the end of the month.

In other VGO news, we have a new VGO Expanded Universe entry coming out this month! VGO: Resurrection, by E.C. Godhand, follows Dr. Lisette Chen. When she discovers her staff have uploaded their consciousnesses into the massive MMO, Viridian Gate Online, she reluctantly takes a chance and logs in. Her goal? Discover why her colleagues abandoned her when she needed them the most. In a blink, she finds herself in a fantastical world where her healing skills—both as a doctor and a Priestess of Gaia—are sorely needed. This is a great new story following a badass healer (which is rare in the Gamelit Genre) and you can pick it up here: Heartfire Healer Book 1

I also have one other project I'm working on with my best writing buddy, eden Hudson. Wasteland Warlords. We're putting together a novella that we hope to sell to Audible Originals. It's almost done and I think its crazy rad. It's the first entry in a brand new series, that happens to take place in the Rogue Dungeon Universe. It's not a spin off, though, and even if you haven't read RD, you can jump right in and enjoy this story. It's more Post Apocalyptical LitRPG than Dungeon Core, and I think folks will love it. The blurb is below--if you'd like me to post chapters here, drop a comment and let me know.

“You keep what you kill. That’s one law everybody out here respects.”

Twenty years ago, the Merge brought armies of monsters flooding into the West Coast. Dungeons popped up in shopping malls, airports, and Starbucks. Walls were built to contain the spread, leaving major cities like LA, San Diego, and Phoenix uninhabitable. The Infested Zones became the new Wild West.

But the promise of priceless loot dropped by the creatures inspired a new type of gold rush. Magical weapons, gear, potions, and gold… If you survive long enough to kill the mob, whatever they drop belongs to you.

Clay Jaeger has nothing left outside the walls. Civilization took everything he worked for, chewed it up, and spat it out. Now Clay, his wife Alex, and his beer-loving, chainsaw-toting brother Joe are going West to try their hand at monster killing.

The loot from the low-level mobs is enticing, but it isn’t the real reason they risked the Infested Zone. They need to kill a Dungeon Lord. Only one in ten thousand hunters pull it off. The rest become fertilizer for the wasteland. But the few who beat the odds gain riches, glory, and most importantly, the Dungeon Lord’s magical powers.

They have nothing left to lose, and everything to gain. If they survive.
