Added 2024-09-22 21:45:01 +0000 UTCI am still having some video issues and this is a priority to be sorted before I record again for y'all whether it's movies or TV. This reaction has been slightly impacted. I caught the video freezing a few seconds after it did so I paused the episode to get it sorted. You won't have to pause on your end, of course. I recorded the rest of the episode in a way I never have before. For some reason, when I set up this new way, my audio settings got reset and while I thought I set it right back to the way it was, unfortunately I didn't. So my audio does cut out quite a bit during the last 14-ish mins of the reaction and the review. Anyway, I will get all of this properly fixed. I even have a new cable arriving tomorrow just in case this was all caused by something as stupid as that. 😅 I am so sorry for all the tech hiccups lately!
With all that out of the way... Another banger of an episode. I'll be watching the last three episodes this week so we'll be completing Season 2 and then getting into Luke Cage Season 1 next week. 🥳 [Direct link here.]

I wanted to add that I appreciate you being here and totally understand how your autism makes you operate differently than most people and I appreciate that you always disclose it as it helps when interacting with you. My sister-in-law has autism, so I get it. I would recommend perhaps scheduling any reaction watching of mine to early in your week instead of the weekend, just in case there are delays? The nice thing about my videos is they're not live at all. They can be watched whenever. Lots of people who are members here aren't able to watch as soon as I drop them. That is always an option and it might be an ideal compromise that works better for you? Anyway, I hope my words don't come across harshly. To your comments about this episode, agreed both scenes were super messy. Just raining bullets for reasons. Yes, Matt is really hearing it from everyone, but it's pushing him more into loner and isolation territory which I don't think will be good for him. Time will tell, I suppose! Agreed, this Hand stuff is far too mysterious and I just want more Frank and Fisk. And good point about the lip injury, didn't really think of that!

'Cause I get a bit negative about the show in the comment below. 😅 I'm starting to remember why I never watched S03 of this. I don't remember finishing S02 either, tbh... This season of Daredevil feels like they wrote two completely separate seasons, and then put it in a blender. We've got a violent revenge vigilantism moral quandary season, and a weird mystic ninja bloodmagic season. It's a strange combo. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's an odd choice for sure. I fucking hate Elektra in this. Like, I involuntarily roll my eyes every time she's on-screen... 😅 I don't really know exactly why though. She's just annoying and makes Matt less fun to watch too. And like you also said, he's already far from the most interesting part of the show.

2024-09-23 19:16:35 +0000 UTCSeems like Fisk plan to frame Frank for killing the rest of the people involved with his families death is partly to try to get Frank killed so he doesn't have to deal with Frank when he does get out. Also less he has to deal with later on as well. The entire scene with Matt and Fisk in jail was great, from Matt's speech to lure out Fisk, to Fisk grabbing a putting fear into Matt with his speech was phenomenal, great acting on both sides. Seems as Foggy is almost lost as Matts "wing man" lol yes bad joke... we got detective Karen on the scene loving it. The whole thing with Electra seems out of place other than bringing her back to NYC and adding a prop to her character, don't wanna spoil if your unfamiliar with her full character. Lastly the hospital Zombie control patients and ninjas... I have no clue whos going to help with this, Matt has a rough time fighting silent ninjas. Ohh forgot one thought, I think its basically the dirty police doing the shooting like Reyes i swear was shot from the chopper no way you get that many shots from a long distance without being seen.

Frank wouldn't want Foggy dead...or Matt...or Karen...so not like the Irish where the goal was to kill them all...hence the hail of bullets in episode 1. So IF it was him, he would only be gunning for Reyes...and a scout sniper can put a single bullet on target from 1/4 mile away at minimum. That scene was messy as hell...not the work of a sniper at all. I love how concerned Ellison is for Karen's safety. He wasn't in the room with Karen and Frank to hear Frank "ma'am" her repeatedly to know that there's just NO WAY he would spray auto fire at her. He's the guy that a few scenes later will shield her with his own body. But Ellison doesn't know that and brings the dad vibes. And, yay Karen. Not only does she call Reyes on her shit and get her to admit to her part in all of this...but pulling a gun on Frank is some next level badassery. Claire is adding to the folks calling Matt out on his bullshit. I almost feel kinda bad for him at this point, (it's like there was a Groupon for brutal honesty and everyone bought in) but then I remember that he deserves to be called on his shit. Meh. I really wish they had not tried to run the Hand storyline in the same season as Frank. It's just...what I liked most about the street level heroes is, other than them having powers of some sort...the shows were more grounded in reality...the whole undead ninjas in NY fantastical bullshit going on at the same time as the war hero whose family was murdered is on trial storyline is just a pendulum that swings too far for me. It makes me roll my eyes when it switches to that storyline because I just cannot care about it. If they were each their own season then maybe I could have gotten into the Hand stuff more, but not when there was a more interesting (to me) and more realistic storyline happening. That Fisk scene is great. My only criticism is that they tease the idea that, because his mouth is sore, the gears are turning about Matt being Daredevil...as if his lip wasn't already split from his fight with Frank when Matt walked in. A blind man could accidentally hit the same spot that someone else hit not even 24 hours before and it's gonna hurt like hell...so...that irked me a little. It would have been better if Matt did something way more obvious...like catch something that Fisk or his lawyer dropped...that would be a proper clue...not "ow, my lip that has been beat to fuck hurts"

2024-09-23 01:20:25 +0000 UTCMatt is now doubting his morals which is understandable but sad to see. The people he thought he beat have returned and the law he has defended is failing him. He thought he beat Fisk but he realized he is still losing. Cutting himself off from his human side with Karen and Foggy feels like the right thing with to do after all these things he has tried to juggle this season but it is damaging in its own way. A big clue that it wasn't Frank was the fact that Foggy was shot. Frank always made sure innocent people were never in the line of fire for obvious reasons. Can't wait for the end of the season.
