Had to think about it but here's the villains in the MCU I personally loved even moreso than the title hero: 1. Scarlet Witch (Multiverse of Madness) 2. Hela (Ragnarok) 3. Loki (Thor) 4. Ultron (Age of Ultron) 5. Gorr (Thor 4) 6. Kingpin (Daredevil S1) 7. Punisher (-ish?) (Daredevil S2) Punisher I guess would be more of an anti-hero than a villain but I included him anyway lol Some villains, like Thanos and Mysterio for example, I loved just as much as the hero. But the rest def loved the hero more.

As you mentioned you have the Gorr stuff with Bale, then you have this beautiful story about love and loss and choosing love regardless of the inevitable heartbreak, and then you have a quippy sort of 80's adventure movie. I think I would have enjoyed any/all three, but smashed together it just feels jarring. The perfect example being when they arrive in the Shadow Realm and all the color fades, and it feels like a serious moment that is then undercut by the ship crashing and the goats screaming. On rewatch I think it gets better but only because you can then enjoy each part as its own thing.
