Clancy does have a great voice. Good thing he did get into voice acting! 😄 Feel like Matt waited a long time, tbh. 🥲

Seeing Elektra's past, it makes me wonder if that's why Stick was so hard on Matt. He wanted a warrior he could control, one he could mold from scratch rather than one that already had a raging fire inside. I do admire Matt for still wanting to save Stick BUT I have to wonder, if Stick didn't raise and train Matt, would Matt still save him? If there was no attachment, what then? So glad Foggy finally got the confidence he needed. He'd absolutely be a fantastic lawyer. I just hope the big firms don't destroy his heart and soul. He's too good for those blood-sucking corp law firms. Clancy Brown's voice is so oddly soothing. It's deep enough to have a presence but gentle enough to be lulling. It's almost like he could do voiceovers or something (*wink wink*). But calming doesn't mean not threatening. That turn when Karen saw the picture, perfection. I hope Clancy wore his Brown pants cause Frank's found him! How many years has Matt waited to hear Stick say "I'm proud of you"? He finally got it. The Colonel had quite the collection! You know you've made it as a villain if you secretly own a Gatlin Gun.

And it showed. Like, last episode, Frank and Karen in the diner. First time I watched that, I thought that was the action. Didnt' end up being the whole action, but that by itself was good enough for me. Just two characters having great "theme chemistry" and "scene chemistry" and you mentioned how good it was. Even Schoonover and Karen, you getting squeamish and saying "What's happening, why do I feel uncomfortable?" Its just great. But with ninja's surrounding everyone and Electrka's big reveal, you looked frustrated that it was taking as long as it was. I get it, its still a rough scene to watch the 4th time around.

Yep, pretty much how I feel too!

kaiielle

Oh fun! That has me even more excited for them.

I completely agree with you about my interest in Frank and Karen and Foggy and stuff, and my lack thereof in Elektra and Stick and the Hand and Black Sky. I think I feel that way because of how good this show is when its more real. More human. Like, loved me season 1, and I don't believe it really had anything supernatural or mythical in it (aside from Matt's senses) and we as an audience could relate, or at least put ourselves in shoes. Here in season 2, we can still do that with Frank's side of the story, with Karen and Foggy and Ellis... the writing and acting and dialogue and, with Frank, tactics are all so very good. The whole Hand side of the story, I just could not find a relatable, human piece to attach to. And that's a shame. Cause I wanted to enjoy that side of things. I just didn't.

I want to say something about Kandahar but have to wait until its time lol. 1 thing I can say is that The Punisher season 1 and Luke Cage season 1 is what got me into these Marvel Netflix shows (I watched them out of order lol) and I'm so glad that you're finally getting to them. Like someone said above, The Punisher is very graphic but it has a lot of heart.

Yeah, I had always realised that was when Frank knew that it was Schoonover...I just always figured that he had stayed on Karen...but, duh...he wouldn't need to. He would either already know or it would be easy to find out where he lived. So, yeah...kicking myself for not getting that Karen wasn't supposed to be there in Frank's mind...because he would have planned better...which I KNOW...so...kicking myself a lot, lol.

Ahh fun!!!

NGL, totally forgot about the money from his Dad. Thank you. LOL date nights with Frank are a little too exciting. 😂 But good call on him realizing Karen was in that house.

kaiielle

Ahh that's okay. Still will be worth watching.

I see these young actors playing the younger versions of the older actors and wonder what they are up too since this show is kind of old now. Like Young Matty from season one was the son in th Ozarks. I googled the young Elektra and one of the things that popped up was that she is dating Tobey Maguire. The first thing that popped in my head wasn't their age gap but that Elektra is dating Spider-Man. 😂

Carl Johnson

Yes Matt doesn't need to work, his Fathers winnings has been invested wisely.

Carl Johnson

Frank's little nod on the boat when Gosnell talked to him like he knew him was definitely the tell.

Carl Johnson

So...my guess is, Matt's money comes from his dad. If you remember, he bet on himself for that last fight and had someone put it in Matt's name...if it was invested for him as a kid, by the time he was an adult, it was probably a decent chunk of change. At least, that's how I've always assumed that he gets by, even when the firm wasn't making much. We also know that he gets a deal on his place because of the billboard and he doesn't exactly live lavishly...no car payment/insurance/gas...probably has a low electric bill because he's almost never home and, when he is, he's not using lights...all of that adds up...probably got scholarships out the wazoo for college, too...I mean...we know he's smart, but...blind orphan? I'm guessing he went to the top of the pile on everything he applied for...that probably helped stretch the money from his dad even more. Since I know you've already seen the finale, I can speak a little more freely on this one for a change... I'm PISSED that we didn't get some awkward Frank driving Karen home in the truck scene...because...how the fuck else did she get out of there? I mean, I suppose she could have walked back up near Schoonover's house and called a cab...but would you want to be picked up from a dead man's house the last night anyone knew he was alive? I think we needed that scene...her all sniffly and sullen and him trying umpteen times to explain and then trying to get her to crack a smile when she wasn't giving him anything...maybe by singing whatever song Schoonover mentioned...or doing impressions of Matt and Foggy...damn... I may hafta write that now. Karen breaks my heart in this episode. That scene where she is talking to Ellison and you can just feel how exhausted and sad and angry she is...but when she realizes she has the chance to tell NY about the Frank Castle she knew and the man he was before the bullshit happened...she fights through the exhaustion and the big feels to go try to do that. And then the moments after that shot rang out...gosh...she needs a hug. A thing that I never realised until I started typing this out...Frank would have figured out that it was Schoonover when Gosnell showed up at the boat right before everything went kaboom...so he probably wasn't following Karen...he probably went to kill Schoonover, saw Karen's car in the driveway and was like "oh, fuck...". He knew the colonel wouldn't kill her in his house (I mean...if the fact that it's where his family lives wouldn't have been enough to stop him...trying to get rid of a body and do all the cleanup with one arm probably would be) so he made sure to leave a signal to let Karen know he wasn't going to let him kill her...the woods would be an obvious place to get rid of her...so he found a spot and waited. I had always kinda assumed that he had followed her, but that actually makes more sense and I feel a little dumb for not thinking of it sooner. Years later and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of this iteration of Frank and I'm still finding little things that I missed/didn't think through all the way...neat. At any rate...that's three times Frank has saved her in...as many days? Threw himself on her to shield her from gunfire, then the next night kills the guys sent to take her out at the diner...then the next night saves her from being the Jane Doe some guy finds when his dog runs into the woods and comes back with a femur. Not that anyone's keeping score or anything, but...I think Frank is beating Matt on the Karen saves...but, he is kinda sorta a little bit the reason why Karen has been in so much danger, so it's only right he should save her from it. At least we know that date nights with Frank are never dull! ;) Stick is a little sassy sometimes? I think sass is his default setting, lol. My first watch-through, I remember thinking he was just a dick...but on repeat viewings, I like him more and more. I still think that he should have just let Matt live his life and never tried to turn him into a warrior...preying on the anger of broken children makes him a creep...but this episode was kinda the one that turned me around on him a little anyway. Those flashbacks with Ellie developed his character as much if not more than they did hers, honestly. Still a creep, but a creep that does care, even though he pretends not to. He also may have tried to push Matt so hard to not have attachments...because he got attached to little Ellie knowing that one day he might have to make the call to try to have her killed. Hey, look! I actually talked a little about the storyline they rammed down our throats...woohoo...go me.

Rat MacKay

Flashbacks were great. Yes you are correct that something Frank did caused the death of his family later. I can tell you do not like the gore that sometimes pops up in these Netflix shows so just a warning that The Punisher show is very graphic. Fun fact the method the hand used was also kind of used by Ward in AOS on Bobbi. A similar version not using bamboo (which is worse )but ward used needles.
