Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) ✦ YouTube Edit

Hi everyone! I have managed to have a long edit for this awesome movie while still trimming plenty from it. I've decided that all tiers here on Patreon will get exclusive access to the version of the edit that doesn't have the movie zoomed in/cropped and the movie logo watermark overtop. The version that has the above and is going on YouTube tomorrow is linked here.

At some point soon, I am going to take the opportunity to upload my Clueless and Glass Onion edits here too. These were removed off the channel some time ago and while I'm not sure if I want to re-upload them to YouTube quite yet (maybe in 2026), I'll provide them here. I'll create a new Collection called "Removed YouTube Edits" or something and add it as a benefit of all Patreon tiers.

And a heads up as well that my Dogma reaction was taken down and my first ever copyright strike was issued on the channel. This happened last night. I am going to try my best to get the video reinstated, but if that doesn't work then Dogma will end up being here on Patreon too.

ANYWAY, please enjoy Across the Spider-Verse!

Cheers,

I'm so excited for the follow up to this too! Yeah I really gotta get my brain set on the differences between villain and antagonist - I really use them interchangably when they're not! 😂 Thanks for all the info!

One thing I love about the end of this movie is Miles' face when facing himself as The Prowler. Earlier he said, when talking to his not-mom about all the stuff he's done and how he beat all the other spider-people and he said that now he's not afraid of anything. That looked to be true 'cause his face said he was NOT afraid. I teared up and was like, "Ooh-HOO!" SO excited for the next one. And yeah, Hobie was awesome. I didn't recognize the voice because I hadn't heard him a lot with his natural British accent. I first saw him in "Get Out" and then in "Black Panther," so I was surprised when I found out who voiced Hobie. Miguel does look like a villain, but none of the Spider-people are bad people. He's more an antagonist to Miles here than a villain. The Spot is obviously the villain. I feel like Miles IS gonna find his own way to solve this problem. It's possible that Miguel may have assessed the canon event thing incorrectly. That's my theory, at least. There may be loopholes. Power set, you know Miles has the same powers as Peter except with the added Venom Strike (electricity) and the invisibility or active camouflage. Miguel, same basic powers but he has claws on his fingertips (and toes) that are retractable which he use to climb, but also to cut things 'cause they can rip through metal. As you can see from his first appearance, he also has fangs and when he bites someone, he has venom that paralyzes the victim, like a spider. His comic was "Spider-Man: 2099" which was the only comic character from the 2099 line of comics that really took off. They tried all different comics in the 2099 line, but none of them were that interesting, but I really liked his comic. I'm glad they kept his character around after they got rid of the line. I remember reading X-Men: 2099 and Doom: 2099, but I know I read the first issue of all the 2099 line, Miguel's was the only one that interested me.

Ahh yeah that makes sense!

It's been a while, so I don't remember whose it was, but there's a great video essay out there that says what makes this *feel* so great and end on such a high is that the movie doesn't end when its third act is over -- it technically includes the first half of the next movie's first act, and *then* it leaves you hanging. So you're left feeling like you want to see more not because you're feeling down as something ends, but because you're riding that wave as something *starts*.
