2025-06-12 02:36:48 +0000 UTCI'm glad to see that my naturally contrary nature is like a stopped clock—it coincides with the majority consensus twice a day. There Will Be Blood is my favorite film.

2025-06-11 23:57:06 +0000 UTCThese are honestly all great films, which I'm sure you already assumed (and correctly so). 'The Last of the Mohicans' is my personal favorite, so that's how I voted. But you can't go wrong with any of them. If I may make an off-poll suggestion, even just for watching in your own time and not for the channel, 'In the Name of the Father' is a particularly good Daniel Day-Lewis performance (or at least a particular favorite of mine). Definitely worth watching, even if not for a reaction.

2025-06-11 21:21:08 +0000 UTCThe Last of the Mohicans was one of my Dad's favourite films, so that wins my vote. The film My left foot is probably my earliest memory of Daniel's fine work. I might have voted for that, had it been on this list, too.

2025-06-11 19:49:17 +0000 UTCGangs of New York is his best work in my opinion. He’s a genius btw. Absolutely brilliant actor. Believable in every single role. Ever

2025-06-11 19:03:04 +0000 UTCGotta be There Will be Blood. It’s the movie I most associate with DDL, and also just the best one on that list.

2025-06-11 18:51:14 +0000 UTCAlso, for when Last of the Mohicans does get a shot, note that there are three cuts of the film. The one you want (solely for availability reasons) is the Director's Definitive Cut, which runs 115 minutes. The theatrical cut, which was never released on home video in the United States, is 108 minutes, and the "Director's Expanded Edition," released only on non-anamorphic DVD, runs 117 minutes. All streaming versions and almost all Blu-ray disc versions will be the DDC.

2025-06-11 18:45:59 +0000 UTCDDL's great in Gangs but I don't like the movie itself very much; it was taken out of Scorsese's hands and re-edited by the world's most evil Hollywood executive, who was hated for his reputation for destroying films in the editing room before he was hated for his sex crimes -- glad to see he just got re-convicted. Those 10 minutes chopped out of Hero were also HW's doing! I would vote for TWBB but since it's got a healthy lead I voted for Lincoln because that is also great.

2025-06-11 18:41:12 +0000 UTCWhy is it always gangs of New York. Last of the mohcains is a such an unappreciated film
