Yes, the satire at play here is fascinating and I'm digging it a lot.

Like as bizarre and extreme as this Kier world is, it's also very much a real reflection of our world, and the work/life balance we're all trying to achieve. Every job/career is a bit culty when you step back and really examine what's happening and who's profiting, and which employees we all know that are flirting with reprimands that can lead inevitably to serious consequences for their personal life.

2025-08-01 01:26:16 +0000 UTCThis is also my first watch of this series. I don’t think Mrs. Selvig has an innie and an outie. I think she’s an executive with knowledge of what the company is doing and for some reason is manipulating Mark for reasons we don’t yet know. Helly is my favorite character. She so determined and I’m rooting for her. I think the company is lying and her Outie was not consulted. But I’m also curious why she chose to be severed. Mark had a good reason, though in reality he’s not forgetting his wife during his work hours, he doesn’t know her. And in is outie time he seems to have has distractions or things to look forward to so severing damaging in the long run. At least that’s how I see it. Anyway, loving watching this with your reactions and queries along side my own. What a trip so far. Somehow you have subverted my enthusiasm and I’m looking forward to Severance over the Defenders reactions, which I’ve been looking forward to for a long time!
