S K Y 1 Year Anniversary

A little bit late for the monthly updates :P

S L X C K here, it's been a little over a year since S K Y got released on RaceDepartment, August 29th 2022. Today we are announcing the return S K Y D R E A M ppfilter, we're bringing it back!

The return of S K Y D R E A M

Back when the first version of S K Y got released on RaceDepartment, there was S K Y D R E A M, a variant of S K Y. Its intent was to simply add more bloom, but later got removed because it felt unnecessary to add a variant that... only adds bloom. You can easily lower or increase bloom yourself via the ppfilter app.

Now, the new S K Y D R E A M will be different; it will look closer to the original S K Y for SOL (meaning it won't exactly look the same as S K Y), it will use a different exposure tech and offer more options to fine-tune the visuals, as well add some spice for night time.

There will be a video showcasing S K Y D R E A M at the beginning of September!

It will be available for Patreon members for testing next week, and will be released alongside S K Y 1.6 for everyone/public at the end of the month on RaceDepartment!

S K Y 1.6

S K Y 1.6 is in development: colors will be more accurate, will fix some of the sore issues, new options will be added and there will be a new HDR setting for HDR users! This entire week, I have been hard at work reworking the exposure handling and colors for S K Y G T, so I spent more time on it, hence the little delay for the announcement!

Discord Boosters and Patrons will be able to test S K Y G T 1.6 once S K Y D R E A M releases here on Patreon! So stay tuned!

S K Y D C 0.4

S K Y D C is getting another big update.

I am remodeling the entire exposure handling once again, so everything makes more sense. While the exposure works well, there are a few things that I am not entire happy like the sun doesn't affect exposure at all. It's something I am investigating, an area that definitely needs fixing. Bloom will obviously be tweaked/nerfed during sunsets, there will be more color controls and HDR will be supported!

S K Y D C 0.4 will be released here on Patreon, once S K Y 1.6 gets released on RaceDepartment at the end of the month.
