This post is about the new stuff, changes and fixes. There will be another post in a few days that will showcase the differences 0.5 makes!
The New Big Things
- Improved atmosphere for better illusion of fog
- Use of the new Ambient light V2 model
- All shadows are now dynamic and physically based
HDR and Exposure calibration
Removed "Paperwhite" options. Instead all you need to do to adjust exposure is to adjust the exposure sensitivity. A higher sensitivity will be more suitable for SDR screens; at max, it will be exactly like D C 0.3's brightness, which was calibrated for SDR screens by default.
Colors, Contrast Ratio & Tonemapping Rework
In 0.4, I felt like the brightness and contrast was too harsh, especially during daylight. 0.5 will have less contrast during sunny daylight, achieving a more natural and less harsher look.
Also, colors by default will be less vibrant. 0.5 will be have less contrast than any other D C version I believe, but a tonemapping rework is on its way to address the lack of vibrancy and contrast to find a sweet spot.
Night Time & Bloom
Night time has been fixed. 0.4 night exposure received a bad downgrade due to daytime glare, resulting harsh blooming lights and dimmer image. 0.5 fixes all of that and night time should look just as good as 0.2/0.3's!

S K Y G T update! Fun fact, the improved atmosphere was already implemented in the Alpha. All atmospheric improvements from D C will be carried into the new G T update.

2024-02-27 19:59:02 +0000 UTCHey I have some issues with the filter. Everylight seems to have this exaggerated glare effect to the point where its too bright. How do I fix that? Also the rain effects with sol 2.5 isnt working for me either.

2024-02-23 15:22:57 +0000 UTCHello. I jst have a problm. Whit yours setting all objects, including the car, the grass, obstacle, have a black-and-white color when no rays of light fall on them. That is, at night and in the evening, everything is black and white.

2024-02-06 22:41:07 +0000 UTCIf you're playing at 4k, I recommend adjusting godrays amount in the pp tab. DC does have sunrays. It's subtle and more realistic.
