S K Y G T SPEC II Concept II - Photorealistic Grass...

I spent the whole month of September to fix one thing in particular, the grass.

This may be my best build so far and for the first time, I can say with confidence that S K Y G T SPEC II is the closest ppfilter that looks like Gran Turismo 7 on Assetto Corsa, probably:

There are a few differences here and there but I feel this is close enough. From failure after failure for almost 2 years, I think this is finally it (and we're not done yet). I was quite happy with overall look of SPEC II, as my first work on Pure LCS. The GT vibe was present and the visuals felt kinda right and real for the most part. But to a lot of you guys, the game was just too dull. A lot loved the subdued colors, however the key issue was the dead and white grass on some maps, exacerbating the overall dullness of the ppfilter. A lot of things looked really good actually, but the grass... the grass was just dead... This needed to be fixed.

But SLXCK, all you needed to do was to increase saturation..? Well yes but no. It's not that simple. Reworks and some changes to the exposure, tonemap, lighting and bloom was much needed... just to add more green to the grass.

I might sound crazy but I am happy to report that just making the grass look more green, made the overall lighting really good.

The grass alone makes the game look very natural looking. It's absolutely crazy.

Colors are just so much better.

Coupled with those changes, I removed most of the custom fog calculation. That's right. Pure's fog is just dead on accurate, there's absolutely almost nothing for me to do, except a couple of tweaks. Also Godrays and bloom are updated. Godrays are now fully customizable and I fixed the glare presets.

Some other key changes:

• Improved exposure handling

• Improved bloom

• Improved colors

• Improved sunsets

• Improved godrays

• Improved emissives lights

• Improved cloudy conditions

• Fixed glare presets

• Fixed gauge clusters

• Fixed VR flashbang due to UI being too bright

With changes there are also compromises. Things can get worse or better, but since it is just the beginning of LCS, we still got a long way to go to.

For me, LCS is already by far more superior than Gamma. I cannot wait to see what Ilja, Peter and car modders will cook for the foreseeable future. That's all! Thank you guys for your support!
