Avengers: Age of Ultron | Full Reaction

I'm still processing all that happened in this Avengers lol. The action was intense, but it was honestly the quieter moments that hit me watching my favorite characters struggle with their flaws and choices. I'll be giving this a re-watch ASAP because it's full of so many amazing moments, lore and development! Can someone pass me some shawarma now?

Avengers: Age of Ultron | Full Reaction

Comments

Looking back now, I totally love him too! For the exact reasons lol

Kali Wali

I really ejoyed Ultron, his demeanor, personality, dialogue, goals, very underrated too!

Kristoffer Smedegaard

i'm glad you enjoyed the new editor! it takes such a huge workload off me so I can focus more of reactions instead of stressing about editing & copyright ✨ I gained 2 to 3 whole days back in my schedule this way! ME comes to mind so much watching these last couple of MCU movies and i'm honestly loving it that way! It makes me want to pick up the trilogy again 🀣 Ultron's view also has me agreeing with him but also wanting to have more hope in humanity. Instead of a bandaid fix of destroying the entire population- making smaller steps together to make the world a better place & start to heal.

Kali Wali

Waited to watch this until it was on YT to see your new editor in action and I enjoyed it. Cap sums up the big question this movie asks: "Ultron thinks we're monsters, that we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right." Also, I love it when you make references to Mass Effect. Makes me proud to see those games have earned a place in your heart and mind.

oh MAN this one is weird. All of the MCU films do some things well and some things...not so well imo and this one feels like the perfect embodiment of both sides of the coin. most of the action scenes here are pretty good with solid choreography and editing thats chaotic enough without feeling too choppy. but i think the dialogue really holds this film back from being in the upper echelon of MCU projects. compared to winter soldier that came directly before this with much tighter dialogue this just feels like none of the lines, even the "impactful" ones feel like they have any impact to me. outside of maybe vision, everyone else feels like they're not sure if the movie is supposed to be lighthearted with the innocent confidence that they'll always win because they're the avengers and thats what they do, or if they are actually supposed to each be reaching their individual breaking points on this collective heros journey. overall its not a BAD movie i guess, i just always feel like nearly all of the things it does do well get overshadowed by better titles. anywho, great vid as always kali! happy to be a new patron, happy holidays!

Watched this yesterday, Sunday. Again a great reaction. 1 Cap 2 Wanda 3 Hawkeye 4 Iron Man 5 Gaurdians Cast Hard to leave anyone out but ya got to so.... A lot going on for me right now so I don't remember a lot of the reaction but i know I loved it lol

P T

Btw your gonna love antman and I can't wait for civil war πŸ˜ƒ

Rashad Walker

ahh okay! makes a lot of sense now

Kali Wali

In their missing persons case referring to winter soldier

Rashad Walker

Nice reaction...to answer your question the reason Sam wasn't in this movie much is because he's looking for Bucky he even mentioned it at Tony's party about chasing leads

Rashad Walker

Agents Of Shield series helps ties in the events of these past few movies and one of the seasons is a direct build up to this one, It’s also just a really good series in general that is worth checking out

Justin Garlington

Was shocked when I relearned that this movie came out after guardians and winter soldier. It feels SOOO much more dated than those. Winter soldier feels like it could’ve come out yesterday to me

Dakota

I'm really looking forward to seeing how all of this foreshadowing and lore tie into the rest of the phases. There was one scene where I felt like my mind was going to explode because there was so many potential places that the story could branch off into! It's fun to think about all the different possibilities. But I can't wait to see what they actually end up doing with it all! I'm hoping I'll warm up to the relationship a bit more just because I love Natasha, but yeah they really need to work on themselves before they could ever have a shot at something stable. I told someone else in the comments that I thought Captain America and Natasha were going to give it a shot after Winter Soldier. I'm a bit sad that didn't work out because I feel like they'd be great together, but alas we get a dark/gloomy/toxic relationship that requires a lot of self-reflection lol. Looking forward to jumping into more! This movie really set the stage for an awesome next Phase!

Kali Wali

Yes! I can totally get behind Captain America and Natalie for all of those reasons. And honestly, I really thought they'd end up together because of The Winter Soldier and their chemistry. But I guess Captain America is just as emotionally unavailable as Banner lol. Or maybe Black Widow was only just flirting and Cap knew that. I also had the same feels about her suggesting relationships and thought to myself- Maybe she was doing all that because they will end up together. Sigh lol. But it's so true that usually the relationships that happen are not the most logical, but end up growing on you anyways.

Kali Wali

Yesss, I'm all for this soul searching and conquering fears lore! I think it's a great way to relate to characters and understand why they fight. This movie really set an awesome stage for the future movies in the MCU! I'm also a little blah about the romance between Black Widow and Banner. I think it's just because I'm not too sure about Banner still lol. Plus he does treat her like hot garbage in this movie. But I guess that's the point.. Everyone has flaws and deep pains that cause them to lash out- Captain America is scared to love again or live in this new era, Thor is scared Asgard will fall into Hel, Tony is scared he'll be the only one left alive amongst his friends and it'll be all his fault. I wonder what Bruce saw... It probably wasn't pretty. So maybe I should be less rough on him lol. But I wish they would have shared his vision and also had him have better communication with Natalie. She doesn't deserve to be ghosted! πŸ˜‚ I actually watched The Blacklist during covid! It was the show I binged during the lockdowns lol. And now that I know this... When I rewatch this I will have the same exact thoughts hahaha. I'm surprised I didn't hear it before! But it has been awhile since I've seen anything Blacklist related. He did do a great job as Ultron though! So dark, mystical and creepy even though it doesn't have facial expressions. So amazing!

Kali Wali

Yeah after thinking the romance through, I think Bruce and Natalie have a strange chemistry but it definitely works. I just wish Bruce was a little less dark and gloomy lol. Natalie seems just as dark and twisty, but she's letting love win. I guess Bruce just needs to learn to love himself more first- Which is probably what he's doing in Fiji (or wherever lol) Hawkeye really surprised me in this one! It's getting harder and harder to make my tier list lol. But he definitely shot to the top-ish for me with his background, personality and speeches lol.

Kali Wali

By sociopathic I mean "if Tony completely lacked empathy". If Tony didn't have his 'Damascus Moment' in the first movie, he could easily have become a villain. Which is what Wanda & Pietro initially saw him as.

KJ Gould

Great point about Vision being able to lift Mjolnir! I forgot about that when I was doing my end analysis of him lol. There was SO much in this movie to take in and absorb, for sure. Definitely worth a rewatch so I can soak in all the lore and character depth before the next one! Clint really surprised me this movie! You said it best- his 'down to earth vibes' are definitely what made his character so much more relatable and likeable. Looking forward to the next one!! ✨

Kali Wali

I THOUGHT I recognized his voice! I've actually seen Black List. It was my 'covid' tv show watch. He played such a great role in that!

Kali Wali

I'm glad you're loving these!! 🩷

Kali Wali

This is so well said! Tony's fearful side was definitely in Ultron as well. That's why I think Vision tells him he is scared in the end. Tony created Ultron after Wanda had used her abilities to scare the crap out of him. But yes also to the sociopathic side LOL

Kali Wali

The character development and lore were amaaaazing in this one! I've been waiting for a lore drop like this ✨

Kali Wali

The first time I watched the MCU, Hawkeye immediately became my favourite during The Avengers (2012). (I gotta admit, I don't think I even noticed him in Thor the first time I saw that. πŸ˜…) Hawkeye getting his due in this film felt so good, because before release, in the cultural zeitgeist, he was starting to become the butt of the joke a bit. He was always a hero, but I guess that seeing that he wasn't just risking his life, but risking his life as a family man, gave people more of a connection and perspective on him.

Onno Smits

This movie is up there for me as one of my favourite MCU movies! It is crazy how much this movie sets up - and foreshadows - future events. You can't truly appreciate this movie until you've seen through to the end of Phase 3, which just goes to show how far ahead Marvel Studios was planning back then. I was a bit more willing to go with the relationship between Natasha and Banner, but I'm 100% in agreement with you that from a character standpoint, they aren't healthy for each other. There's a lot of context and set-up for this movie that took place in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, which started just after Iron Man 3 came out, and ran in-between the movies all the way up to the end of Phase 3. It has a fair bit of crossover, cameos, and story integration with the Phase 2 movies. It's _a lot_ of content though, so it's probably best that you're skipping it for now. But I hope you'll consider circling back around to it once you're done with the Infinity Saga (Phases 1, 2, and 3)!

Onno Smits

So since you asked, I think I'm...okay with Natasha and Bruce. Like it's not the most logical thing in the world, but who ever said people always get together in logical pairs? What I think I liked more though, was the chemistry Natasha and Steve had. I think they were very well matched as heroes but she had a lot more guile and cunning befitting her more cynical modern age and he had the strength and character of a very old-time straightforward do-gooder hero of the Golden Age. She seemed to be VERY interested in making sure he was paired up with someone and I kind of feel like that was indicating her displaying an interest in him but not really wanting to chance it openly because she didn't feel he'd be comfortable in a relationship with her. Just a thought I had.

JD Nevesytrof

I feel like all the central themes of phase 2 that you've been talking about all came to the forefront and got amplified in this movie. Getting to see all the internal struggles and soul searching from the Avengers, and how each conquered them in their own ways. Even with the twins too. Very cool. We got so much extra depth from characters too. More of Black Widow and her backstory (as much as I'm still weirded out by her Hulk romance LOL), and of course, Hawkeye. As a big Mass Effect and Detroit Become Human fan, I always find the good vs. evil AI theme very cool to dive more into, so I really enjoyed the story in this one. And you know what I realized right at the end there about Vision? That he reminds me a lot of Markus from Detroit. I don't know what comes next for him, but at least right now I'm getting big Markus vibes I just can't take Ultron seriously anytime he speaks because he's voiced by James Spader LOL. As a big fan of The Blacklist TV show, I can only see the very eccentric main character that Spader plays in that show anytime Ultron is on screen. He really played Ultron well!

M1 Maz

He is up there with Wanda and Cap for me

The Dingo

Great reaction as always. I will never understand why people don't give Hawkeye enough credit. Personally, I think he is a badass and he has no tech or super powers, he's just really good at what he does. Yes, some people in the fandom found Nat and Bruce's relationship to be weird but I thought they had good chemistry. Bruce was just worried he will hurt her. Oh, and Cap always has the best speeches! (but I'm biased) and the next Cap film is my 2nd favorite movie in the franchise. Anyway, Ant Man is going to be a lot of fun!

Lastboyscout73

Really happy you enjoyed this one! Age of Ultron has so much meat on it, I know its a lot to absorb. I really love that we get to see the Avengers deepest fears. Iron Man not doing enough and causing this death, Natasha and her horrible past as an assassin, Cap and not being able to escape war, and Thor leading all his people to death. I know scary AI are super real for the times lol, but I think Vision definitely wouldn't turn. I mean, him lifting Mjolnir says more about his character than any words could convey. That Vision is worthy of the powers of Thor, according to Odins standards, who placed the spell on it originally. I think he can be trusted πŸ˜… hell with how good Steve is, him budging the Hammer also makes a lot of sense. I love Clint so much, especially after this movie. He's got so much down to earth vibes, and he's just all about duty and looking after his family. I also just love he and Nats relationship, it's very brother and sister vibes and it works so well. I'm so excited for Ant Man! I think you're gonna have a great time!

Lorenzo Baxter

James spader as ultron is a perfect casting. I knew he was going to do great ever since I saw his work in the TV series the black list.

Can I just say I count the minutes until your reactions? Thank you so much. I feel like I'm there with you. I'm about to start this reaction and just have to say... LETS GO!

The Dingo

Ultron being an evolving AI with the mind of a sociopathic Tony Stark, cranked up to 11 through the Mind Stone is what makes him terrifying. Vision being Jarvis with the compassion of Tony Stark and a purity enhanced by that infinity gem, is what makes him so endearing. That's my opinion on them, anyway πŸ˜‚

KJ Gould

Have not had shawarma either, probably never will but it will always be a good inside joke to mcu fans

P T

Cant wait to watch. You're right, there is so much lore and story beats in this that go on to affect whats to come. I really liked a lot of the character development in this one too.

Simon Haynes

LOL I had to add the shawarma part πŸ˜‚ I still haven't tried it tho! Hope you enjoy this one!

Kali Wali

Wow you are cranking these out, I love it!!!! Will watch tomorrow for sure. Haha on the shawarma
