Ant-Man and the Wasp | Full Reaction

I went into this one expecting a story set in the aftermath of the snap, only to realize it hadn't happened yet. This made it feel like a breath of fresh air. A moment in the happier times of Phase 3. A lighthearted escape from the devastation of Thanos' victory. But beneath the humor and fast-paced energy, there was a deeper message about connection here. Scott trying to be the best father he can be, Hope and Hank risking everything to reunite with Janet, and even Ghost's desperation to survive. As always, the balance of humor and heart made for a really fun ride that, for a moment, I let my guard down again.

And then the end credits came. Just as I was settling into the warm fuzzy hopeful feeling of Janet's return and Scott's beautiful life with Cassie, the snap happened. Scott being trapped in the Quantum Realm was a gut punch I wasn't fully prepared for. Ant-Man and Wasp will return? Question mark!? This one wrecked me all over again, leaving me in that same stunned silence I felt after Infinity War.

Ant-Man and the Wasp | Full Reaction

Comments

LOL that would be the most intense spoiler anyone has ever seen in their life πŸ‘€πŸ˜

Kali Wali

Now imagine if u watched this before Infinity war ....major spoiler

Rashad Walker

OMG just noticed the kitty paw print on the wooden frame. Adorable. Nice to hear you say in the intro that you are the happiest you’ve been in a long time now that the move is accomplished! I can just tell from what you reveal of yourself in these videos that you are an awesome mom which is one of the two most important jobs in the world. She’s lucky to have you.

Richard

I hope you make this space as comfy and decorative as you want. Just know that the kitty-sunshine-window-shelf is amazing and I hope the room vibe is built around that. Also, as others have said, thank you for a great reaction to a hilarious and wholesome movie. And the subsequent heart-breaking blindside hit.

Richard Flores

That makes too much sense which is why the writers had to have him stuck in the quantum realm lol

Rashad Walker

Thank you! I'm really looking forward to Captain Marvel. It'll be one of those films where I haven't heard or seen anything about it at all, so I'm excited to experience it knowing that Endgame is right around the corner! I also appreciate the kind words about the move! I spent this morning unpacking a bit and getting more settled in. Since this spot is so sunny, I was thinking about adding some real plants into my set-up this time! But I'll probably have to wait until Spring/Summer to get them lol.

Kali Wali

That is suuuper eerie to think about πŸ€―πŸ‘€

Kali Wali

The events of ant man and the wasp was happening around the time Thanos happened in infinity war

Rashad Walker

Great job reacting to this one…I’m looking forward to your response to the next one, which I believe is Captain Marvel. That character is in The Endgame and it’s one I’m sure you’ll enjoy! It’s so nice to see that you and your family are moved into your new home. I’m sure you’ll have your studio looking amazing in no time!

Bernie Zwicky

Awwww, you are very welcome! I don't know the back story of why you were living with your in-laws, I believe you said before one of the mcu movies, but I'm super happy for you to have your own space now. It is an awesome and satisfying feeling having something that is yours and a "Home" is at the top of the list. Congratulations πŸŽ‰ again ☺️ The Thanos glove thing was a good what if. I have had a lot of what if thoughts and moments with mcu movies. There are things and times that i think that doesn't compute but oh well, here I am still watching and loving every one of them. I just can't get enough of them lol Yes,I'm with you on watching an entire mcu recap with luis narrating. Omgosh that would be fantastic ❀️ Devastation 2.0 is the perfect description for the end of this one. Lulled us into a false sense of security. Enjoy this fun movie before we get back to the reality of what's really happening in the mcu. Then tic tic tic πŸ’£πŸ€― But, you kept thinking all along, What about the snap πŸ€” kudos to you. Harder for us at the time I think because we had time to sorta forget about or we didn't want to think about the snap. You only went a week between the 2 movies, we had a few months between. You were on top of it though πŸ‘ City life is great lol enjoy, I didn't notice any sirens πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ doesn't matter anyhow, you have your own comfy space!πŸ’ I'm going to mom's this weekend. Second time going since dad passed at new years. It's strange but life is moving on. Enjoy your weekend settling in

P T

I'm really excited to make this space my own! I plan on working on it more this weekend when I'm not recording! I love that you've followed Evangeline Lilly's career from Lost to The Hobbit to the MCU! I need to watch Lost soon! I've seen so many people recommend it to me. It'll also be an awesome long journey here since I know there are a lot of seasons! I also love Michelle Pfeiffer- she has such a warmth and grace to her, and she played a perfect Janet! I totally feel you on the 'real world' moments hitting the hardest. I also get so emotionally attached to these characters and wow- I feel you 100% on these emotions. Can't wait for Captain Marvel though, just because I need to know what's next!! See you there :)

Kali Wali

This made me smile!! Thank you! I'm really enjoying the process of settling in and it's been very nice decorating and having a space of my own to make how I want to. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and I'm super thankful they let us stay with them to kickstart my career, but I was ready to break free and have my own space to make my own! This morning I just kinda sat back and looked at my new space and smiled. It's been such an awesome feeling. The Thanos glove theory was a super random thought that hit me, but now I can't unthink it! It makes me even angrier at the Accord for their rules and regulations and side with Captain America even more during Civil War lol. I can't help but think those 'what-if's' 😭 And yesssss, Luis' storytelling is top tier haha. I love his humor and I feel like anytime he says anything I can't help but laugh. He is hilarious. I could watch an entire MCU recap narrated by him lol Marvel really played us with this one- like, "here have some fun and laugh! relax, everything's fine!' then BAM- devastation 2.0. πŸ€£πŸ˜… I'm relieved the mic held up! I know some sirens might sneak through sometimes lol, but I guess that's city life πŸ˜‚ Sending you all the good vibes!

Kali Wali

This honestly means so much and helps easy my anxiety/pain at what happened during Infinity War. I gotta say experiencing everything back-to-back like this is awesome because I get to really stay fresh in all of it. But in a lot of ways, that makes it SO much harder because I love these characters, and it makes every moment feel so alive. I appreciate you being here through every emotion, theory, and gut-punching moment! ✨

Kali Wali

I love a good easter egg hunt! I'll be going back and looking for that later!! (writes note on sticky pad so I don't forget lol) I can't wait to jump into the Batman movies! I've heard they are great and plan to jump in after I wrap up my time in the MCU as a kind of tide over.. lol But that's awesome!! Completely agree about the family values in these Ant-Man movies. I think it's probably a huge reason why I love them so much. I just leave them feeling good and wholesome. I also loved Ghost's character and how they gave her real emotional depth. All the villains in Phase 3 have pulled at my heart strings in some sort of way- Except Thanos. I just hate him haha. Very excited to see Captain Marvel and see how it all ties into everything! Sounds like I'll be seeing a huge "aha" moment in that which is very cool! See you there!

Kali Wali

Same! I love the father-daughter love between Scott and Cassie so much.. And the way that they all handle co-parenting is extremely refreshing! No unnecessary drama, just genuine care and support and love. The big bear hug when the ex-wife's husband came in almost got a tear outta me haha. I just feel so warm and fuzzy inside with it all. And yes, Cassie! She is such an awesome daughter and it's all thanks to her amazing support system for sure. Her bond with Scott feels so pure and yes- she definitely nailed that role! The car chases hahaha. Marvel has really been going all in on those lately, and honestly, I'm here for it too! The Hot Wheels car case would be such a dream to have even as an adult LOL. I think we all need Pym tech irl πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ No more garages or trouble with parking spaces outside while trying to move in hahaha You know how much I love this new setup! I'm glad that the transition felt seamless as a viewer, which is something I was really concerned about. But the setup transferred so well and I took alllll the pictures of the wires and just re-set it up the same way and it booted up great first try which is a true miracle lol. Sometimes even just a Windows update can completely jack up all my audio so this was amazing and so easy! Major respect for the siren tolerance lol. We live right by a fire station too and sheeeew, it's constant some days πŸ˜‚ But it is hilarious that it came in at the very end, kinda like an unofficial sound effect to wrap things up with the eerie end credit scenes Marvel gave us in this one 🀣

Kali Wali

I totally feels just like that.. The calm before the snap πŸ˜πŸ˜–

Kali Wali

Oh, is he the bigger FBI agent you see with Woo?

Malcolm Ferguson

Thanks Guys, i have looked up her work since then and i caught up on it. @Kali. Thanks Dear but im not sure if i will watch or skip Captain Marvel. I made my peace with it but for me this Movie started the downfall of the MCU. Its by far better then everything in p4 but it still ...i dont know. Anyway thanks again for being a part in our lifes. You and! Pixel makes it so much richer.

Curaitis

I've no suggestions for your set-up, but I hope you have great fun getting it the way you want it. Again, congrats on the new pad! As for Antman and the Wasp, I first saw her (Evangeline Lily) in LOST, and then when the Hobbit trilogy came out and the MCU movies, I had no idea how great of an action star she could be until I saw it with my own eyes. I've also been a big fan of Michelle Piefer since an old movie called "The Fabulous Baker Boys", although I may have seen her in Batman Returns before then (can't remember which I saw first), and I feel she was a great casting for this role. This particular story gets me not because of the ending, but because I'm overwhelmed with emotion for the Van Dyne reunion. I guess it's the "real world" stuff that always gets me. Don't get me wrong, I laugh my butt off everytime I watch this one, but I get so invested in these characters that every emotional twist and turn really hits me, Anyway - great reaction (as always)!

Matthew Murdick

So happy to see you happy in your new own comfy space! Congratulations! πŸŽ‰ you've got time to get it decorated and situated, just enjoy the process. You'll get it the way you want it. You brought up a good point in your intro about antman shrinking into thanos's glove, I had never thought of that before πŸ€” lol Luis's storytelling is one of the best parts of the Antman movies. The way they put his voice over the other people and the way their movements and facial expressions mimic his voice is the best. Luis is a vital character. You're "Let's go's" are the best!!! I grin every time ☺️ This franchise, MCU, sucks you in in a way you can't avoid it happening. You get attached and soooooo involved with the characters that you can't help it. Another fantastic job by marvel to give us a lite hearted movie following infinity war and let us feel normal again, only to smack us at the end with, oh yeah, the snap. Brilliant!!! Another great reaction, LOVED IT!!!!! Again, happy for you in your new comfy space, so happy for you. It'll all come together. Just enjoy the process of it again. P.S. Did not hear any background noise. So I think your microphone did good filtering it out πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

P T

Just remember one thing, Kali. We all went through this, and had to wait, in some cases up to a year. You're experiencing the entirety at lightning speed. We all, I assume, empathize with all of your emotions. We're here with you to the end πŸ˜‰πŸ’ͺ

Jonathan Spahn

Fun fact: if you pause the film at 01:35:00, you might catch an interesting Easter egg πŸ˜‰ iirc, this was Michelle Pfeiffer's first comic book movie since Batman Returns, where she plays Catwoman opposite Michael Keaton's Batman. I absolutely love the family values, the humor(especially Luis), the music, and the humanity of Ghost. Everything was going great with all the group's problems until the team got dusted away and Scott got stuck in the Quantum Realm. You never know what you have until it's taken away πŸ˜ͺ Looking forward to your reaction to Captain Marvel. You'll learn timeline placement on this movie when you see it πŸ˜‰

Paul Wright

This was definitely a great break from the heaviness of Infinity War. I love Scott's family dynamic sooooo much. I can't remember a single other movie I've seen where there's a healthy divorced couple relationship, but here we are. Even how much his ex-wife's husband cares for him too is amazing. And then there's Cassie. I just love their relationship so much, and you said it perfectly that she's just such a good kid. Her actress played the role great too! I feel like this is such a me thing to say, but we've now had major car chases in two out of the last three MCU movies and I'm so here for it! LOL. That case of all the toy cars... that would literally be the dream for me as a kid, just pick your favorite out, expand it and drive haha I thought the setup was great! It honestly felt very seamless from your previous house, and I'm glad you were blessed with no tech issues on your first recording here! I don't know if it was a combination of the new camera lens, the extra natural light filtering in, or what, but your face the whole time was bright, and super clear. So everything looked great! Of course, you'll have time to decorate the background more, but for now, all we really need back there is that cozy, floofy, chonkers :) Also the sirens outside at the end gave me a laugh... I live like a half mile from a fire station, so I get the sirens zooming by all day haha

M1 Maz

Don’t forget to check your PO Box soon πŸ€—

Richard

Kitty!

Doug Watson

WHAT. I must go back and re-listen now! My favorite Stan Lee is def still Tony Stank hahaha

Kali Wali

Before I watched this with you, earlier today I was also thinking that this is the calm before the storm, even though it takes place during Infinity War.

Doug Watson

This one has my favorite Stan Lee cameo scene. It also has the voice actor for Dutch from RDR2. He's in a few scenes, has a couple of lines where Hank and Hope are in jail.

Doug Watson

The running Baba Yaga gag sent me a few times lol. I'll add the "Enchantment" to my backlog, thank you for the recommend! This movie was seriously fun and a much needed breath after Infinity War. But those end credit scenes really hit me with the "Ok, but this was a false breather, ha ha ha" πŸ˜πŸ‘€

Kali Wali

LOL then the end credits just... BAM

Kali Wali

I totally agree. But now I'm even more nervous as we get closer to Endgame. I loved this movie for the much-needed breather it is though.

Kali Wali

"it was nice to have a presnap movie, im glad it ended on a high note" Lmao. ayeeee

Phil Tilly

I gotta admit that this is my first time seein Walton Goggins, but hopefully I'll have a chance to see more roles with him in the future! I heard the Fallout TV show is great and would love to jump into it sometime soon!! And I have to agree on Hannah John-Kamen. She made an excellent Ghost and her eyes are super mesmerizing ✨ I'll definitely be looking up Tardigrades! I love that their nickname is Water Bears, that's very cute lol. They seem almost too wild to be real, but now I'm very intrigued. As for Endgame.. I'll never be prepared. But I'm so ready to get answers on all the questions boggling around in my mind since Infinity War. I just need to know what is next for the fate of the world.. And thank you for the kind wishes for me and my family! We've been making the space cozier every day and I can't wait to add more me to the setup. I'm absolutely loving how bright and bubbly this new office feels compared to my cave before hehe. I'll be adding some plants now that they won't immediately die due to lack of sun πŸ˜‚ See you in Captain Marvel! Hope you've been well, too!

Kali Wali

Fun movie. Michael Pena is so funny as Luis, I just love his whole disposition. He reminds me a lot of a friend of mine. Also love the Baba Yaga running gag. I don't know if you're a big reader, Kali, but if you are, and you'd like to read a great story based on the "real" historical Baba Yaga, I'd recommend reading "Enchantment" by Orson Scott Card. It's a modern day fairy tale steeped in Ukrainian folklore, and it's one of my favorite novels. I reread it every few years just to keep it fresh in my memory because it's so good.

Dude Longcouch

Pixel loooooves the windows in the new place hehe

Kali Wali

Ahh, you're too kind! I think that is one of the things I love the most about the MCU- It never sacrifices heart for spectacle! The characters feel so real and their struggles all hit just as hard as the big action moments. The snap was already devastating enough, but when you actually stop to think about the aftermath it's almost too much to process 😭 And now with Hank, Hope AND Janet gone?? Scott is completely stranded and that "Ant-Man and Wasp will return?" just sends you right into a panic again lol. Also, thank you for asking! My parents are hanging in there. The city is going to come in and dig up their entire front yard this week to look for 'clay tiles' which apparently farmers used way back to help with water flow.. With all the construction going on, it's possible that they hit one and that's why the sudden flood of water came rushing into the house. But they need to prove it in order to help them with any sort of fix. It's all been such a horrible mess for them, but I'm going over there tomorrow to help see what they can salvage from the basement and try to get started on ripping out the damaged dry-wall. It's gonna be a long process for them, unfortunately. But I just hope that the city actually finds these clay tiles so they can get on the path to fixing it, because with more rainstorms there will probably be more flooding for now. Sorry for the long-winded reply on the house situation lol. I just feel for my parents so much right now.. And yes, Pixel is living her best city life right now haha. Cozy, spoiled and very much in charge of all the windows in the new place ✨ I hope you've been well too! And I'll see you in Captain Marvel next!!

Kali Wali

You definitely summed this movie up perfectly! It's 100% a palette cleanser, but wow did Marvel just have to hit us with that gut punch in the end πŸ‘€πŸ˜ I definitely agree that the Ant-Man movies are underrated! I don't hear the fan base rave about them as much as the others, which I guess I understand.. But I have loved both of them so far and they're pretty high up there in my book of favorite MCU films so far! Plus Scott's relationship with Cassie is easily one of the most wholesome father-daughter dynamics in the entire franchise. Evangeline Lilly seriously brought the perfect mix of strength and vulnerability to Hope and I absolutely love her for it! Seeing her suit up was awesome and I love her different roles through the MCU and also The Hobbit films! Once you see the actor as one, you just can't unsee it but I have to say she did an awesome job of really playing her roles! I appreciate the kind words about the new space, too! It's still a work in progress, but I'm excited to make it feel more like me over time ✨ See you in Captain Marvel next!!

Kali Wali

This is such an incredible breakdown, and I really enjoyed reading it. It was 100% a deceptive lightheartedness before the rug gets pulled out from under us. I also really enjoyed your points about Ghost, too. She's not a villain in the tradition sense (much like a lot of our villains in Phase 3) and just someone desperately trying to survive after being denied any form of a real life. The fact that Hank and Hope still choose to help her despite everything she tried to do and has done, really speaks to this movie's whole theme of 'second chances' and empathy! The emergency broadcast is pure chills for me, too. I also noticed Scott's door just flung wide open and that uneasy feeling of, 'oh crap' hit me all over again. The world is in pure chaos with no sign of answers anywhere. It's really eerie to imagine this moment lining up to Infinity War's climax like that and reading your description of it all just sent tingles up and down my spine! And leave it to Marvel to give us the absurdity of the drumming ant while all of this is going down lol.. Their ability to throw darkness and humor into a single scene is pretty incredible. I can't wait for Captain Marvel! I'm definitely nervous going in, but I'm ready for those answers now. I need to know what happens now.. Where everyone goes from here.. And how can they fix this, or can they even???

Kali Wali

She was also in the movie Ready Player One

John A

I don't want to say much until Captain Marvel and Endgame are completed for you, but this movie was a nice respite at the least.

KJ Gould

Hannah John-Amen had a blink and you'll miss it part in Game of Thrones as one of the widows in the Dothraki homeland. She's more known for her starring role in SyFy's "Killjoys".

KJ Gould

Great reaction as always. Beside the few logic holes it is a greatand funny Movie Cast is amazing, especially Walton Goggins, who is one of my favorite actors. He plays in the Fallout TV Show and many Quentin Tarantino Movies *wink wink*. Never had heard about Hannah John-Kamen before this movie but i really liked her in the role of Ghost. Two little side notes. The little creatures are called Tardigrades (Water Bears) and if you research them a bit you will find out that they are one the most amazing and astounding creatures on our planet. The Movie at the end is called "Them!" from 1954. Great Movie! Last but not least. Not only bring Tissues for Endgame but also prepare yourself emotionally, otherwise the Movie could break you. Wish you and your Family great days in your new home.

Curaitis

I love the cat bed in the background

BigBrain69

She loves the window spots in the new home! 🩷

Kali Wali

This was a muuuch needed light-hearted movie after Infinity War! Enjoy ✨

Kali Wali

If I may be so bold; but I think now is an appropriate time for you to maybe double-up on the MCU so you can deal with some of that noise in your head. Just a suggestion, I know you're trying to balance content so everyone is included but dang I'm going out of my mind anticipating your Endgame experience. : )

Richard

Our queen is here! The MCU does an awesome job of balancing spectacle with realism, comedy with deep human emotion, great story-telling with realistic characters not one-dimensional caricatures. So great. One thing about that snap that no one had time to think about in Infinity War was the billions of families left shattered and heartbroken. So now, the only people who know how to run that quantum apparatus are dusted. Is Scott trapped forever? "thinking hard emoji". How are your parents doing Kali? I love seeing Pixel all cozy and happy!

Richard

This movie was meant to be a palette cleanser after Infiniti War but they still gut punch you in the end. It's definitely a fun movie though and a much needed laugh. Plus the relationship with Scott and his daughter is really heart warming. Ant-Man movies are underrated imo. Edit: Got home from work and watched the reaction, I feel your pain because as much as I enjoyed this movie I kept thinking, dammit, I got 1 more movie to watch before Endgame comes. I should also mention how much I liked The Wasp and Evangeline Lilly's portrayal of her. She is definitely a bad ass. Funny how actors from movies you just watched keep popping up in Marvel films eh? 1 from The Hobbit and 1 from The Matrix. I like your set up, don't recall hearing anything but your voice during the reaction. As you said you plan to decorate it, I'm sure you will fix it up nicely.

John A

I really like this movie, and how almost jarring it is after Infinity War, wanting answers, then getting a much more lighthearted film nearly making you forget. Ghost is a really interesting character. You can definitely relate to the base human experience of fearing death, being desperate to survive. Especially for her, not really getting to have much of a life, Ava probably is looking forward to a world where she can actually live as a person instead of a thing to be used by others. I really like how after all the conflict, they were willing to go back to the Quantum Realm to help her further. Paul Rudd is such a fantastic comedic actor πŸ˜… him slipping into a motherly demeanor as Janet was so perfectly done, he just went all in lol πŸ˜† Of course Scott getting trapped is unsettling and scary. But I want to focus on the very ending credit scene because that one, is also very unnerving, drumming ant aside. Scott's door was left wide open, and that emergency broadcast sound that has given me so many nightmares in my youth, just drives home a lot of uncertainty. Imagine at that moment, Thanos is in Wakanda, rewinding Visions death, and after killing him again, Thor failing to stop Thanos, he snaps. And the governments of the world have zero clue what is going on. All they can do is put up that emergency broadcast, but they are just as clueless as the remaining civilians. Billions of people on Earth, and trillions in total in the universe, just ceasing to exist all at once (including world leaders, like Tchalla) the absolute panic that the whole world must be feeling outside, and we just focus on the ant playing a sick drum beat. Something about that scene just always effected me as much as Scott being lost. Its that emergency tone, just makes my hair raise up. Anyways, I'm very interested to see your thoughts on Captain Marvel, definitely a divisive movie across the community. See you then Kali!

Lorenzo Baxter

Kali with the intro music, nice touch! Your cat seems to be enjoying their new spot.😸

Richard

Yes! Was hoping this would drop this morning. Off to Disney+ for more Phase 3 with Kali! πŸ₯³
