Happy March, everyone! 🌸

We're starting off this month with some amazing watches!!
Here's what's on the schedule this week:

🪖 The Pacific: Part Three & Part Four
I finally found the right interview for Part One thanks to a community member, so I'll be going back to watch that before Part Three. This series is heavy, but I'm grateful to be back in the WWII genre, learning about the Pacific Theatre. The contrast between this and the European front has already been a huge shift. Since gaming is still on hold until later this month, I'll be watching on HBO Max and adding in YouTube interviews at the start of each episode until I get a new capture card.

🍿 Avengers: Endgame
We have finally arrived. This moment in the MCU... The one I've felt the weight of and theorized about since Infinity War. I have loved every single step of this journey, and for those wondering- No, I'm not stopping here! How could I? I'm in this to the end of the line. (Yes, that is a Captain America quote 😂) See you all in Endgame on Friday!

🚘 Back to the Future | A Patreon Choice Winner
I was so surprised to see how many of you were hyped for this one! It makes me really excited to sit down and finally watch this trilogy with you all. It's been suggested a few times, and since The Pacific and Endgame were most likely going to be very heavy for me, I thought I'd add this one to the poll to balance things out. And yes- I'll be jumping into the entire trilogy now that we're diving in, just like I did with The Matrix (The Matrix Resurrections is coming next week!)

And in other community news:

📌 Movie Tickets Open Friday!
I've been thinking about how to make Movie Ticket purchases more accessible, so here's the plan:

Friday from 9AM to 3PM EST, the Movie Ticket shop will be open! Instead of a frantic one-hour window, this should give everyone a better chance to grab a ticket that would like to do so. When you purchase a ticket, you can message me your suggestion and we'll chat about it! I'll work through them once a week in the order they were purchased.

This way, we can add more variety to the community while making sure that anyone who wants to participate has a fair shot! Once I've watched all the movie tickets, I'll reopen the tickets again. I considered using another website for this and only allowing two tickets, but I wanted to keep everything simple right here on Patreon and this seems like the best way to do so.

And don't worry- If you don't get a ticket, polls will still be happening!

I'm so excited for all the fun things coming this month! Already this is shaping up to be another awesome one 💚 Wishing you all a happy March! Can't wait to watch and discuss these stories with you!

Happy March, everyone! 🌸

Is movie ticket shop going to pop up automatically?

Richard

This makes me reaaaally excited to get into my comic book era haha. I love art, so I'm surprised I haven't gotten into them sooner! I'm planning on reading the Firefly ones first before I dive into the MCU, but I'll definitely be keeping your tips in mind when I finally get into them! Plus, I still gotta sit down and read The Hobbit and LoTR soon so it may be awhile. I'm guessing around the time I actually end my time in the MCU and I am all caught up which should be perfect! But I seriously appreciate all this info and tips on the comics and how to navigate them! I'm looking forward to it!

Yep, release order. Thank you!

M1 Maz

Release order right Maz? I can send it later tonight when I get home

Paul Wright

I agree with this assessment. Looking forward to her decisions and reactions.

Paul Wright

Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy with Christian Bale's Batman is also a suggestion...the best film trilogy imo...Lord of the Rings close...Joker (2019) too which is a standalone too...Superman (1978), Batman (1989) and Batman Returns, and some DCEU films like Man of Steel (2013), Batman V Superman, Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam, The Suicide Sqaud and the Peacemaker show...some good films and a show from DC in the past to react to in the future too...obv not all in the same world but W projects

LeSteeler

The next franchise you should react to is the new DCU led by James Gunn who made the Guardians of the Galaxy films and helped on the MCU Infinity Saga, it recently started so u could catch up and follow along as projects release...it could become the best universe ever tbh...and Matt Reeves' The Batman world could be apart of that world and we could see Robert Pattinson's Batman in the same world as the new Superman movie coming out...that would mean The Batman film from 2022 and The Penguin show are the first two projects of the DCU, we will see...The Batman is one of the best films that transcends the genre, The Penguin too as a show, both getting awards recognition...a new animated show Creature Commandos is out rn that is technically the start of the DCU until we find out about if Robert Pattinson's The Batman is in it or in his own world...and characters will go from animation to live action with the people voicing them playing them in live action too...the Superman movie written and directed by James Gunn releases this summer, and a new season of Peacemaker releases too...The Suicide Squad (2021) and the first season of Peacemaker are in the DCEU (the old DC universe) but some characters will carry over to the DCU, that means the in the DCU those characters who were not recast will have a familiar past as the DCEU version of them, but it won't be the exact same as we seen in the DCEU...and it's only a few that will stay the same bc character like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. will be different actors with different pasts...it's a lot but when the projects come out it will be perfect.

Obviously, it's up to her in what she wants to tackle but imo she should at least watch the original X-Men trilogy before Doctor Strange 2. After that she should watch X-Men 1st class. As far as the solo Wolverine movies, if she falls in love with the character of Wolverine (like most of us did) The minimum she would need to watch is Logan. I would argue X-Men Origins Wolverine is great for his back story even if they mess the 3rd act in that movie up. The Wolverine is also a great singular story again with a messy 3rd act but good for character development. Then X-Men Days of Future Past. She could skip X-Men Apocalypse (although I liked that movie it has very mixed reviews) and she can skip Dark Phoenix all together. That movie was horrible imo, and by then Fox had been bought by Disney and it feels like they didn't really try to do that one justice. Then for sure do the movie Logan then move on to Deadpool 2. She can catch up the rest of the MCU safely at that point before she hits Deadpool and Wolverine. I personally will not advise her to all the random cameos movies unless she wanted too. If I did, I would just say watch the 1st Fantastic Four movie (you know why) This is so much content so obviously it will be up to her to figure out how deep she wants to go down the rabbit hole but the movies will land better if she decides too. I will be there for all of them, that's for sure. Not sure if you agree how I listed this but ultimately, it will be up to her. :)

John A

Paul, if you don't mind and have the list handy, could you DM me the proper order for watching the rest of the MCU? Following Kali's journey, most of the MCU has been a first time watch for me, and I try to usually stay a few weeks ahead of her. After finishing Endgame, I've started watching the OG Spider-Man films and have really been loving those. But now I'm not quite sure where to go next haha, and am always worried about spoilers trying to look this stuff up online

M1 Maz

Amusement park type of thrills! (Remember your first trip to King's Island?) 🤗😎

james flack

Good point on Jessica Jones. Do you think she could squeeze the X-Men movies before Doctor Strange 2? I know she saw Deadpool 1 way back when. If not before Doctor Strange 2, maybe before Deadpool and Wolverine, I wonder which ones she should do. There's 14 in total.

Paul Wright

Kali, just saw your post regarding the comics. That is a HUGE undertaking; we're talking thousands upon thousands of issues, so maybe I can provide a little assistance to get you started. Firstly, the stories and artwork start taking some bold leaps forward in the mid-80s and early 90s; there were always good stories going back to the 60s but later they were less inclined to bow to PC pressure and so the stories got more daring and maybe more current with the times. Also some incredible writers and artists were on board. My favorite artist ever was Gary Frank, and fave writer was Peter David who wrote an "incredible" arc for Hulk over a 10-year period. He also wrote a lot of Spider-Man I believe. Spidey was such a popular character that he had 4 titles per month going on at one point. You are probably best off picking one or two titles you are really invested in (Iron Man; Avengers, etc) and maybe start somewhere more modern than 1962 lol. My main one was Hulk, of which I still have about 200 issues of and of course he crossed paths with/fought/teamed up with a lot of other characters during that time. He had epic battles with Abomination, Thing, Absorbing Man, Thor, etc but the best part of the series was the whole Banner/Hulk dynamic and how that played out over time. Sorry to ramble but I hope you are able to find a doable path into that world!

Richard

I knew I couldn't be the only hardcore MCU fan throwing recommendations at her! I like your list on the original netflix shows but I would argue season 1 of Jessica Jones is good (for the story alone) and also allows you to get to know Luke Cage for the defenders series. It would give her a good idea on most of the characters. Iron Fist was not good imo, but she can figure him out on the fly.

John A

Patreon is weird, can't reply to you directly so you may not read this but rain today, turning into blizzard conditions by 9pm tonight through the morning. I love the Midwest! lol.

John A

I looked up Agents of Shield and got a bit overwhelmed by the library haha. I wouldn't mind jumping into it after I'm all caught up as a kind of recap from everything that happened in the phases since I know it bleeds together really nicely- But I'm not sure how everyone feels about that? And I think since a few shows come between now and No Way Home, I may be able to squeeze in those Spider-Man films! I just have to play around with the schedule a bit once we get there to see how I can go about it. Maybe even sitting down with a Spider-Man movie marathon could be fun one weekend and I could just release the recordings over time (or even all at once and y'all could jump into them whenever hmm) Either way, really looking forward to more after Endgame! I know that Endgame is THE ONE. But I've loved all of these characters so much and I can't wait to see more of Black Widow, Wanda, Doctor Strange and the Guards of the Galaxy!!

Kali Wali

I'm glad you've been enjoying my BoB and Pacific reactions! It's pretty interesting to see the difference between the two sides of WWII and what the men went through. I can see how it's been an overtalked about topic for those that follow it closely. I definitely needed my break from the heaviness after BoB, but I have to say that even though the Pacific has been a difficult watch- I am enjoying learning more about the history of The Pacific theatre. With a statement like that about Endgame, I'm both excited and nervous to finally watch it tomorrow haha. I can't wait! But I'm also juggling around so many scenarios in my head and I'm nervous which one plays out (If any of them, even!). Really looking forward to it and your Lost quote! And yes! You did share with me the release order of MCU movies/shows after Endgame and I do plan on following that very closely. I know that the shows really bleed into the movies and you shouldn't just jump around and dive into movies before watching the shows that came before them. I can't lie, I'm pretty excited to go into Phase 4 this way! Thank you for all your wisdom, thoughts and support here! Really glad you've been enjoying your time here! 🍿✨

Kali Wali

I can't wait to be all caught up, too!! To actually move through a series with the fans that I love will be awesome.. And I'm planning on filling my time in between new releases by reading the comics ✨ I've loved the MCU so much since I started it. No way I can stop here!

Kali Wali

I really, really loved The Matrix movies! The trilogy was amazing and I love how they tied all the storylines together. I think what made it even more amazing is how Matrix Reloaded literally bled right into Matrix Revolutions. Can't wait to see the fourth one still even though it's not as well liked lol. But still looking forward to it! :) Happy March!

Kali Wali

LOL but not because it's scary right? I was told it wasn't scary 👀🤣😅

Kali Wali

Happy March! We're getting there and it's definitely feeling more like home this week 💚🍀 Looking forward to this week too!

Kali Wali

Happy March! I'm totally with you on winter effing off lol. So tired of the cold and colds 🤣😅

Kali Wali

Happy March! 🍀💚 It's supposed to be 60 here today! But then snow right around the corner again on Thursday lol.. Send help

Kali Wali

Happy March and yes yes also 2025! 🤣✨

Kali Wali

Kali your plan for trying to incorporate the MCU shows with the films makes total sense; I will say that maybe not all of Agents of Shield is mandatory (it's a lot of episodes) once you get past the tie-ins with the films but at that point you might be sucked into the character arcs and be very happy with where it's going. Also, just my 2 cents, but I feel that you being expected to watch 5 Spider-Man films before watching No Way Home is a bit much; one of the members here could probably provide a pretty succinct version of what you need to know going into No Way Home but that's your call. I'm excited to get a female perspective on Black Widow, WandaVision, and Doctor Strange 2. The latter 2 I'm especially hyped for since Elizabeth Olsen is my favorite actress and she has a huge arc in those. Love going on this journey with you!

Richard

Happy March, Kali. I just started binge-watching your BoB and Pacific reactions, enjoying those so far. I'm a big history fan, but I think I avoided these because WWII has been discussed to death, so I put them on the backburner. Looking forward to more reactions on those. Nothing could prepare me for what I saw in Avengers Endgame. This movie really is the end of the beginning for the MCU. I just remembered a good ole Lost quote which I will post on Friday. Also, I think I sent you a release order of MCU movies/shows after Endgame. Lmk if you need it again or good to go. In regards to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Defenders, I would recommend this order: Daredevil Season 1 & 2; The Defenders; The Punisher Season 1; Daredevil Season 3; The Punisher Season 2 BEFORE Hawkeye tv show. Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D does reference the Infinity Saga movies, but not the other way around due to corporate complications. It is a great show though, highly recommend. Keep up the great work. Loving this channel to death ❤️👍

Paul Wright

AWESOME!!!! I am so glad you are not stopping with MCU after Endgame is over. I can’t wait until you’re all caught up. The speed that you’re moving with you should be caught up with the rest of us when July 25, 2025 comes around! LETS GO!!!!

Jonathan

How cool, I can't wait for Friday, I'm sure there will be a great reaction. I also really liked the Matrix reactions I saw these days, they blew my mind when I saw them in theaters. Thoughts similar to yours came to my mind at that time. Greetings from Mexico.

Javo Vargas

Daredevil is so good and looks to be an important part of the MCU going forward. Also related shows Jessica Jones and Punisher are great. Agents of Shield has so many episodes and many seasons it is a lot to get into and is probably more optional in terms of MCU. But it has a lot of fans too, if it’s something you’re interested in.

Joe

Kali, I believe the preferred term for the BTTF franchise is, "Thrillogy". 😎💐

james flack

Thanks for that awesome reply! Your poor editor for Endgame . . . might have to do a 3-parter on YouTube because what the heck can be cut?!? Didn’t mean to skip over Back to the Future, that’s a really fun trilogy and kind of an earmark of the 80s culture a lot of us grew up in.

Richard

Happy March. Hope you and your family are settled in your new crib. Looking forward to Back to the future. 😘

PHILLIP CORNISH

Happy March and more importantly, Happy Spring (soon). This winter can eff right off.

Lemurian Jones

I’m soo excited for your reaction to endgame. That movie is one of my top 5 movies and such a good ending to the phase

Jp Davis

Endgame! Let's Go!!! Also Happy March! and the hope for the end of winter. Not a lot of profound things to say here. Just looking forward to your reaction!

John A

Have a happy March and the rest of the year too. Let’s not stop at March ha ha ha. Can’t wait to watch this with you.

Kevin Cavanaugh

Also 100% agree with KJ's take on Daredevil!

The Dingo

Happy March! 🍀💚

Kali Wali

Your excitement is making me even more excited!! hahaha I can actually feel the countdown energy, and I know this one is going to be a whole experience. As for your quandary, that's the ultimate MCU fan struggle right there it seems lol! No wrong answers here though, but I do love how hyped you are to jump into discussions every time! And you already know I'll be diving in deep and taking my time with these details. This has been 11 whole years in the making and I can't wait to see what there is to unpack! I love the idea of a top 5 MCU ranking after Endgame! I have a feeling this will be my longest outro yet. I even have an unboxing to do at the end of Endgame as well! Can't wait to experience it all with you- It's finally time! 🍿👀😅

Kali Wali

Out of the cold slowly to Spring☀️

Evert Jethoe

Great! About Daredevil, Marvel is releasing season 4 tomorrow and they retroactively made it canon and part of the main MCU timeline. You have plenty of time to watch it (though if you want, you can get by with just Seasons 1 and 2 I believe). Recommend you do this sometime before the Hawkeye TV show.

The Dingo

Oh wow.. With a description like that I am now interested but also slightly scared 😅😂

Kali Wali

Ooo that sounds magical!

Kali Wali

Happy March, Kali 😊

Oliver Jayawant

Omg omg omg Endgame is finally happening. Been counting the hours for weeks, the minutes since Infinity War, and now the seconds. Kali I can’t wait to see how wide your eyes can get during all the “wow” moments! And when there are emotional moments, try to feel all the giant virtual hugs you are receiving from your friends. I will probably watch this reaction a hundred times. Now the quandary I have is: as soon as Endgame is posted on Patreon I’m going to want to start engaging in the comments section but I feel I need to take the 3 hours to watch your reaction first. What to do, what to do. There will be a LOT of plot points, etc, we’re going to want to pick your gigantic brain about so I hope you’re able to devote a little more than the usual time discussing this flick as it is the culmination of 11 years of story-telling; and maybe there will be stuff you want to pick our brains about as well. You probably have a rough idea, but maybe after Endgame you could give us your top 5 MCU films? Can’t wait!

Richard

DareDevil is an amazing but intense show. It's set just after the first Avengers movie. If Spider-Man shows off the Heart & Light in humanity, DareDevil exposes the Soul & Darkness.

KJ Gould

This Friday it will be finally 18 degrees Celsius ( 64.4 degrees Fahrenheit) in the Netherlands.🌞

Evert Jethoe

Happy March! 💚✨🌼🌸 I'm excited for things to finally (hopefully) get warmer and start to bloom!

Kali Wali

Yesss, I realized when I was making this schedule that our first week going into March is packed already! Really excited to jump into all of it this week.. It's gonna be a wild one 👀 And I'm glad you like the idea! I figured this way people have a better shot at getting a ticket if they really want one and I can just work through them as they come in. There's nothing worse than sweating to try to get something you really want online lol. Can be a super frustrating experience! And that's not what I'm going for here haha

Kali Wali

Eee good luck! I hope keeping it open for longer like this will help those that want to get a ticket be able to get one now :)

Kali Wali

After what I witnessed in Infinity War.. I totally get why the MCU wasn't hyped up much anymore. I have no idea what I'm about to experience in Infinity War, but seeing as how it's a conclusion to one of the most amazingly intense superhero stories I've seen so far I can't even imagine what is about to go down.. How could they possibly top what has been done in this Phase without more worldbuilding and arcs? I'm guessing that's a huge part of why it declined. I know there were also a few movies that just 'weren't great'. I experienced one of them very out of order with Thor Love and Thunder. And honestly, that movie is what pushed me away from the MCU for so long. But now that I'm here, I can't stop. I need to know where these arcs go even if they branch off into crazy realms and aren't like the OG films. I love the world that has been being built this entire time and I'll be there with it through the good and bad 🍿 And yes! I do plan on watching the TV Shows in order even if that means we won't get another MCU movie until I'm finished with that show. I think I might even watch Agents of SHIELD alongside it since that is safe to watch whenever at this point as well as Daredevil. I'll have to see what I can squeeze in there tho :) But as for the Movies/Shows going into Phase 4 I plan to watch them in order, for sure!

Kali Wali

Happy March Kali 🌺🪻🌹🪷

Evert Jethoe

Endgame, and Back to the Future, and more Pacific all in one week!! Starting March off so strong. Can't wait! And I think that's such a great idea how you're handling the movie tickets now! There seems to be a ton of excitement in the community around them, and now it won't be a race to who clicks first. And a lot less chaos on your end hahaha

M1 Maz

I have a few ideas!

The Dingo

I've an idea for a movie ticket choice, hopefully I can purchase one 😊

KJ Gould

I love that you are sticking with the MCU after Endgame. Fair warning, it's hard to live up to Endgame so keep an open mind and don't have super high expectations. That said, despite how a lot of people feel, I personally believe there is a lot of great content post-Endgame. I will also add there are TV shows as well post-Endgame. Keep in mind: these shows were largely written in a way to complement the movies and the release order is still important - watching the TV shows and movies in release order will help you not be confused in the movies. (I've seen another reactor decide to go out of order for some reason.) Also, I'm hoping to snag one of those movie tickets this month! Wish me luck!
