Glory | Movie Ticket Pick | Full Reaction

This movie definitely shifted something within me. From the very first scene, there was a certain weight to the story that just left you feeling unsettled. I could immediately tell that this wasn't the kind of storytelling that asks you to sit and watch, but to sit and feel. Every moment after that felt intentional, grounded in truth and sacrifice, and by the end of this beautiful film, I was left in a quiet reflection. The real cost of freedom is carried on the backs of those history tries to forget. And I absolutely loved this film for that message and how they portrayed it.

Huge thank you to McShades for this recommend! Your choice gave me the gift of seeing something that I would have definitely missed on my own. Glory was more than just a film, it's a heavy reminder and, in many ways, a prayer. So, thank you for bringing it to the channel!

Civil War battles often involved large numbers of soldiers, and line formations allowed for the effective deployment of those massed forces. Unlike modern warfare with radios and advanced artillery, communication during the Civil War was limited, and line formations were the most practical way to coordinate large numbers of soldiers. It also allowed soldiers to concentrate their fire on the enemy, maximizing the number of shots fired and the potential for casualties. So due to the technology (muskets) and tactics of the time, this was the best way to fight with a large army. - Per Google. This was also how the British armies fought back in the 1700's-1800's also. If I was born back then, I'd make sure I was like standing in the 3rd or 4th row, I'd be like "oh hey, I need to tie my shoe, you guys go on without me, I'll just catch up"... The guys up front most of known their odds of surviving was extremely low.
