I'm still trying to piece together exactly how I feel, because it dropped me right into thick of it without any real explanations! The moral complexities, the tensions, and the blend of sci-fi with raw human emotion already has me hooked. It feels almost like there is this heavy weight hanging in the air, like every choice matters, and I can already tell I'm going to get way too attached. I leave this first episode with so many questions, and I love that. See you in the next one!

I immediately caught the 237 jumps as a reference to Room 237 from The Shining.

2025-08-17 04:20:33 +0000 UTCIt's a very tiny moment, but the very end when Roslin writes the new number and turns around and almost breaks down is one of my favorite moments in the show. Hits me in the feels every time. It's hard to believe that 2 years passed between the airing of the mini series and this episode. It's pretty seamless. The only thing you have to infer is there had to be some time between their first escape and when the Cylons started following them and attacking every 33 minutes. As for Helo, his character was originally not going to appear in the series. But he was such a fan favorite of the miniseries they wrote a whole story line for him to come back. Love that this first episode hits you with a really hard moral decision. It sets the tone that this series isn't going to shy away from that stuff.

From the Miniseries, I took away that there are 12 models (copies) only, but now it makes a lot more sense that there are possibly infinite copies but 12 different models! Thank you for helping me understand that better. Honestly makes it even more insane to think about now!

2025-05-04 13:23:21 +0000 UTCI think someone alluded to it already, but when referring to Cylon models, the blonde Cylon is model #6. She said that right before Baltar's house was destroyed in the miniseries. Sharon, is another model. Same with the arms dealer that Commander Adama killed on the munitions station and finally the journalist Baltar accused of being a Cylon. Those are 4 models of the 12. You will learn their model numbers eventually. At this point, we don't really know how many copies there are of each model.
