Mad Max: Fury Road | Movie Ticket Pick | Full Reaction

This was such a visceral, raw and deeply symbolic film! I knew it was going to be intense and chaotic based on the 'Thriller' and 'Action' tags but what I didn't expect was how powerful the storyline was. Survival. Freedom. Fighting to reclaim your voice in a world that strips it all away. It was a story about breaking toxic cycles, reclaiming what was stolen.

Huge thank you to Maz for using his movie ticket to pick this one! What a way to close out this round of Movie Tickets. I seriously loved every single pick! Each one brought something different and special to the channel. It's been a pleasure watching all of them with you! This film was the perfect finale: intense, emotional, and unforgettable.

Hey Dax! Welcome to the patreon side of things! 💛 I can totally see why you love this film so much! And I really appreciate you sharing your insight. Seeing Max as more of a vessel or witness honestly gave me a whole new perspective. That final moment with Furiosa seems even more powerful now with what you said in mind. I also didn't realize there is a graphic novel AND game!? That sounds like something I would love to explore. I'd be really excited to jump into more Mad Max films eventually as well after this first look. Mel Gibson?? Say less 👀🔥 Thanks again for hanging out for this one! Hopefully I can jump down the Mad Max rabbit hole again soon with more films!

I completely agree! The worldbuilding in this was so layered and I absolutely loved the mythology and religion within it. Even though the world is baren, sandy, and chaotic. It feels so lived in and real. Like this could actually be a possible future of madness. You can tell there's history, ritual, and belief systems baked into every detail. From the steering wheel shrine to the war paint. And you're so right that Joe essentially builds a cult of scarcity and survival. It's chilling, but so fascinating at the same time. So glad you enjoyed your rewatch with me! This movie was insane in the best ways.

Hey Kali I’m new to your Pat. But I’m a been a Yt subscriber for a while , this is my absolute favorite movie. I am a huge mad max nerd and I have seen every movie played the game and read the graphic novel of Fury road. If you have any questions about the lore of mad max I recommend the graphic novel and the game and the Furiosa movie. The old ones with Mel Gibson are good too. And about your last comment of Max being the support is the nail on the head for most of the movies. George Miller (the creator) has said that max is more like a placeholder for the audience. We are experiencing the world through max. This is true with the other movies except the first one, that one is about max and why he is the way he is. The game is also about max and goes into a lot of lore on what happened to the world. So if you want to watch more mad max I’m definitely down to do that, but I’m just glad you liked it.

Wow! Been a minute since I’ve watched this one. Great reaction Kali! The details and mythology are really quite in depth in this film. Even though they don’t explain much of it, all the details really make this universe seem rich and three dimensional. Not just a two dimensional post apocalyptic world I was particularly fascinated with all the religious undertones and how Immortan Joe used it to control the Warboys. Even words like Citadel, took on a religious connotation And the action is just insane! And the way they filmed certain scenes at a slightly slower frame rate giving it a frenetic feel. And the sound design is awesome! Fun reaction!
