This was AWESOME. I felt like I was pulled into something ancient, vast, and hauntingly beautiful. I didn't really know what to expect going in, just that it was sci-fi and set way in the future. But what I found was a world that felt both alien and also deeply familiar.

From the very beginning, the scale of everything felt incredible. The music, the silence, the desert. The film felt so patient, almost reverent, like it knew its story was bigger than any one person or even planet. And at the center of it all is Paul.

There was a weight to this film that felt hard to put my finger on. It wasn't just about politics or prophecy. But identity, survival, and a new awakening. The desert wasn't just a setting, it felt so alive! It's danger and beauty. And the tension between the colonizers and the Fremen made me want to learn more, understand more.

I'm honestly so excited to see Dune: Part Two! See you all there!

Great reaction as always. I actually didn't read the book ahead of time and I struggled in the theater to keep up with the proper nouns and all the terms too. The re-watch (especially with subtitles) was massively helpful. One thing I picked up on a couple re-watches was a better interpretation of the dream sequences. When I first saw it in the theater, I sort of walked away just thinking some of them came true, some of them didn't. But I'm now seeing the metaphorical meanings more clearly. For example, Duncan living amongst the people representing the melding of Atreides and the Fremen. Janis telling Paul he would be his gateway to the desert way of living. Even though Paul killed him, it was Janis' challenge that allowed Paul to rise up and gain credibility amongst the Fremen, in turn setting his path towards the desert. So while Janis didn't literally teach him, the vision was in essence true. Pretty cool to pick up on during this rewatch!

Great reaction Kali! So glad you enjoyed the film! This is definitely one of those films that so rich and detailed. That you go and read the books to get even more immersed in the universe The sound in this film is incredible! Especially in a theatre or home theater. If you love Hans Zimmer, you should check out his Live in Prague concert Blu-ray. It has many of his most famous songs from the movies. Very enjoyable! Can’t wait for part 2!
