Wow. This first season to Battlestar Galactica has been an incredibly insane ride! I think I'm still trying to catch my breath after this finale.
This final episode to Season 1 pulled no punches. Emotionally, spiritually, and narratively. Everything that has been slowly building up over this season finally came to a head, and I felt all of it. The stakes were real, not just because of the action, but because of how deeply these characters are now divided. By their faith, by their loyalties, and by fear.
Roslin and Adama's fallout was rough to watch. I've grown to care about both of them so much in their own ways and watching their ideals clash like that hurt. Especially seeing Lee get caught in the middle of it all, again. His choice to stand by Roslin felt human and heartbreakingly brave.
And Boomer's entire arc this episode felt so tragic and terrifying. The final ending left me absolutely stunned. I sat in silence for a while afterward, just trying to find a way to process what I saw.
This show just keeps proving to me that it's not afraid to get messy. I'm so excited to jump into Season 2 (after a very brief one-week break)! I have a feeling we are heading into even murkier territory, but I honestly can't wait. Thank you for walking this journey with me! It's been awesome exploring it together and hearing your thoughts/feelings as I move through this epic ride for the first time 💛
