Jurassic Park III | Summertime Vibes Film | Full Reaction

Heads up: There's a little mini TED talk in the intro of this one. I've been sitting with a few too many comments lately about my reactions to these films (and yes, also the later Star Wars movies which I happen to be currently watching as well) and it started to really eat away at my soul. So, I took a moment to speak from the heart about how I experience "bad" movies and even how flawed stories can have meaning, excitement, and laughter if you're open to seeing them that way. I hope you lovely koalas give it a listen and maybe see more of where I'm coming from as a person and creator! 🤍

As for Jurassic Park III, I actually loved this one! It's probably a close second favorite so far in this series. The pacing, the action, and the return of favorite familiar faces again. It scratched that perfect adventure and dinosaur itch while still keeping the emotional stakes alive. It may not be everyone's favorite, but it was a fun ride for me! See you all in the next one!

Jurassic Park III | Summertime Vibes Film | Full Reaction

Comments

I appreciate this comment so much!! It was a bit wild in the comments (mainly on YouTube of course haha) during my time in these movies. Lots of negativity and "why are you watching these?" which makes it hard to validate why I'm enjoying them 🤣 But I'm totally with you on finding joy even in 'bad' movies because otherwise, what's the point? Thanks so much for hanging out in this one! I had an absolute blaaast watching these other the summertime and I came out of these films with a lot of love and respect for the Jurassic franchise which surprised me! Glad you loved watching this with me 😻

I'm very late to the party on this one. I didn't have the time over the summer to watch these but now I finally did. I was sorry to hear in your "TED-talk" that the comments got you down. Finding the joy in watching any movie should be the goal, otherwise you're just wasting time looking at a screen! I think it's hard to write a comment about how someone reacts to a movie, as it mostly just comes across as creepy... 😬 So I think people prefer to just comment on the movie itself. I'm certainly guilty of that. And this is the internet, where the loudest majority is usually negative. 😞 Watching this movie along with your reaction made it an absolute blast! You rolling your eyes or giggling makes the funny bits funnier. Your too loud screams make the jump-scares scarier, and your insightful commentary makes me genuinely find new depths even in the most shallow of "rollercoaster-ride"-type movies like this. Really, as far as reaction content is concerned, that's the gold standard. 🥇

The first two films were based on the books. This film was an opportunity to use elements of the books that didn't make it into those films. There is an unwritten rule with the Jurassic films that there has to be at least one kid who possesses a very niche and highly convenient ability, lol! Like the Wilhelm Scream, it becomes amusing with familiarity. 😆

Great jump-scare!😄🐨

You are very right about the fact its a dinosaur movie its not meant to be taken that seriously as something like the godfather would so there's no point in hating on it and its better to just try and enjoy it. I usually try to do the same (unless the writing genuinely annoys me lol) so I understand where you're coming from by being positive about these popcorn movies because they're meant to entertain you not change cinema. I just think its better to have a positive outlook on these sorts of movies and you continue doing that so as a viewer I really appreciate that. Anyways about the movie, the raptor saying "Alan" always gets a laugh out of me lol its so stupid but works to make me laugh every time I watch it and im sure its the same with most people and the Spinosaurus just staring at the people when the phone was ringing was absolutely terrifying overall I liked this movie it was pretty good. See you in Jurassic World!!

Hi Kali, lovely reaction, as always. Joined your patreon somewhat recently, mainly because I loved your LOTR videos on YT and honestly, I just HAD TO watch your full journey through those movies. I have since gotten a chance to watch some of your other content and you never disappoint. Because of that, I feel like I need to say: DO NOT EVER apologize for liking things!!! DO NOT stress about "pretend" movie critics who feel the need to rehash long-dead reddit or twitter debates, or like to spout tired opinions they once picked up from some random YouTube video, in some cases forgetting how they originally felt when they first watched the thing. I am willing to bet that the majority of the people in here, are here because no matter the movie or show you pick, they like watching the pure joy, sense of fun, true empathy, little insights, fresh perspective, and honest emotions you bring to your videos. We are not here for high-brow movie criticism, or for nitpicking inconsistencies or bad plot devices. There are a lot of other more appropriate discussion channels for that. In any case, all that was to say, YOU do YOU, and keep up the good work! 😉
