Spider-Man (2002) | Full Reaction

I have been excited to jump into these films since I began my journey in the MCU! Peter Parker's origin story felt so raw and tragic. It completely redefined what "your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man" means to me in every way. It's not just a silly, fun tagline. It has real weight to it. A weight that Spider-Man carries, built on guilt, sacrifice, and this relentless need to do right even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts.

MJ was a standout, too. She isn't just the sappy love interest. She is someone trying to escape her own pains, her own loneliness, constantly surrounded and skipping from one guy to the next but they never see her. Not the way Peter does. And it made this love story feel so real and personal. It's messy, complicated, and kind of heartbreaking. But their relationship is not just about romance. It's about being understood. Peter loved MJ before she could figure out how to love herself.

I also couldn't help but notice the MCU-style echoes. The super-soldier serum, the military experiments, the corporate greed driving it all. Bottom line. I loved this movie way more than I expected to. For its emotional beats, for its timeless vibe. And now I really get why Spider-Man means so much to so many people.

Maybe his dick got bigger too. You don't know.

Why do reactors think when Peter says “big change” he’s looking at his dick, he looking at his chest muscles

That Marvel logo was always there

Great reaction Kali! It’s been a minute since I’ve watched any of the Toby Maguire Spider-Man’s. I forgot how good they were! They often get overshadowed by the newer remakes. Speaking of remakes. There are a lot! 😄 All in a relatively short span of time I thought J.K. Simmons made a great J. Jonah Jameson! Is this really your first Kirsten Dunst film? You haven’t seen Bring it On? 😊 Looking forward to the next one!

I just got through watching your reaction, as you posted a poll for new movies. I'm excited! But to talk about this reaction and movie, I will have to compose myself. This first Spider-Man movie is pure nostalgia to me for so many different reasons. It was my introduction to superhero films, and set a tone for how I wanted my life to be. I grew up on this Spider-Man movie and the Superman TV show "Smallville". These two set a precedent for me when it came to superheroes. Smallville taught me that even though Superman is from an entirely different planet, he is as human as any other Average Joe. It taught me all about being a human. And Spider-Man taught me that you truly have to think about the responsibility you have as a human. Not just a hero. I am very excited for you to embark on this journey as a part of the bigger Journey. These movies can get a bit messy, but they are so heartfelt and fun. Something that I think we've all gotten away from when it comes to film and television. The Renaissance is upon us. I hope that you and the family are doing well! Thank you once again for the amazing reactions!!
