With the release of Dungeon Bowl next week I wanted to create some new tile arrangements that would allow for the more flowing dungeon style layout - similar to Advanced HeroQuest. I found the new configuration I came up with also works great for the original HeroQuest. As everyone is getting their new sets I created a set of tiles to work with the HeroQuest board layout.
All these can be found in the folder "000 New Files"
Building the board like this solves the offset wall problem some that some people didn;t like the aesthetic of and has the added benefit of making each room an individual tile. This will allow me to build custom rooms that you can lift out the old tile and drop in the new - expansions yay! The tiles also give you the option to make custom layouts and make packing away easier.
Where 2 edges of a room meet you can use the new DUN Floor Cap 002 pieces in the utilities folder to add a decorative spiked strip to the edges of one of the rooms to hide the clip holes.
Set up also becomes a bit easier as you can just clip the corridor arrangement together and drop the rooms into place with no clips... Talking of clips I know the 5mm ball magnets can be hard to get hold of so I'm testing a clip that takes the normal cylinder magnets glued into place and should have this finalised tomorrow :)
The Ghoulburg Grass, Path and Dirt tiles have a lot of new variations added to the new files folder too. I have a few more options to create for these and will then do the thumbnail renders and a little guide to creating natural flowing paths.
