I didn't take it as "weirdly defensive" in the least. I took Nicole's emphatic "no" as keeping things from getting any messier, with Brad hitting on a lesbian who is also Ruby's ex and is also crazy. And I definitely didn't see that interaction as showing us that Nicole thinks Cheyenne is hot and it annoys her. (I think Nicole's entire interaction with Cheyenne was probably showing us that Nicole thinks she's hot and it annoys her, though.)
