Yes the song title "The Spoils" It comes from the saying "to the victor go the spoils" The Spoils in this case is the person she is in love with.
The song itself has potentially different meanings. First the agony of watching someone you love change when they are in a relationship with someone else with lyrics like
"But I somehow slowly love you
And wanna keep you the same"
But it also could equally be about the memory of that person fading in your mind and desperately wanting to hold on to it.
A lot of people that have experienced a loved one going through dementia relate to this song. Desperately wanting to remember a person as they were and not have them change into something unrecognisable .
The video I think is meant to represent the memory fading. First you see Cate Blanchet (yes a famous actress she played Galadriel in Lord of the rings) Then you see her in a death mask familiar but not the same and by the end of the video it's just blank stone. The memory of that person completely gone.
It's a beautiful song and video.
Some massive attack songs do get played on the radio for example "Unfinished sympathy", and "Teardrop" quite often.
Yes some massive attack songs a very cinematic, their song "Angel" could quite easily be used in a suspence thriller . It just keeps building and building. it's marvellous but also quite unnerving.
Thanks for the reaction
