Hi everyone ! 💜
Thought you guys would like to see pictures of my new art space/studio :) 🎨
As you know, I and my boyfriend moved to a new apartment in the beginning of March and we have been slowly but surely making it our own since then.
There where a lot of steps that needed to be done, paint the walls, buy new furniture, hanging everything up and decorating. We are not even done yet but finishing the art studio was a priority and we wanted to get it ready quickly so we could start working again.
There's so much more I want to do with this space and who knows, maybe it'll look totally different in a year or so. I doubt it will change that much tho, I really like how it's set up now and I think we did a pretty good job. I want to get good work lamps one day, those with 'daylight' led bulbs or something professional like that so I can have a good light when I'm working in the evenings. And of course I need to hang up more pictures :)
All the furniture and shelves are form IKEA. We had a lot of earthquakes when we where setting up the studio so we ended up bolting the tables to the walls so they are not moving at all now! Really good to have steady desks. My pink chair is from Amazon and Halli's chair is from 'Home sense' in UK.
This room in the apartment is the biggest and should be 'the master bedroom' for normal people but obviously it's the art room for us. Me and my boyfriend, Halli, both agreed on that without a second thought.
He's an artist too, he does animation and concept art so he has the other side of the room for his work space. We painted his area with this beautiful teal green and he loves it. He has this pretty ice cream neon light which goes so well with the teal wall and I'm so jealous of it. In his free time he likes to make music so you can spot guitars there and a synth.
Halli's space is very different from mine but I think they look pretty good together.
I wanted to keep my area light and bright. I also knew that all of my stuff would add a lot of colour so there would be no need to paint the walls. I wondered if I should paint my wall lilac but then I though that it would be too much. What do you think ?
We also have a big closet in the room as well and we mainly keep our clothes there but some shelves are filled with art supplies, it's still in the process of being organised so I'm not taking pictures of that for you. 😅
Then there's the big book shelf unit filled with 'Art of Books', comics, illustrated children's books and so many more. On top of that we keep our board games, I'm hoping to move them someplace else when I can find a space for them.
So there you have it, a mini tour of our art studio so far!
What do you think of it? Do you have any ideas for it ?
Even thought I know we have a lot of stuff we don't feel claustrophobic at all in the room. The high ceilings really help the space feel open and bright. I know this room is a nightmare for a minimalist but lucky for us we love to have a lot of stuff that makes us smile :)
Hope you enjoyed this little tour! 💜
