Criston parading Meleys' head through king's landing shows how unaware he is about Targaryens. He thought that's a great act to do. No real Targaryen supports such a demonstration. They respect dragons. Even Maegor the cruel didn't do such a demonstration after killing his nephew and his dragon. Criston was trying to become Otto. Just like Otto paraded the body of baby Jaehaerys and won people's sympathies, Criston tried to do the same. He expected all people to be like him who don't value dragons and will be happy to see a dead dragon. Unfortunately it backfired and proved he is no Otto or have no knowledge of the thoughts of smallfolks or no knowledge of how Targaryens sees their dragons. He's an absolute disgrace and failure

2024-07-17 09:58:56 +0000 UTCI think Daemon didn't recognise that lady to be his mother. Alys Rivers does say later on that you don't understand your mother. Daenon's and Viserys' mother died when Daemon was 3 years old. So I don't think he knows what she looks like
