If something doesnโt have many scores then you can take it with a pinch of salt, but generally I havenโt found many scores that I disagreed with. When I do I usually put it down to my own tastes (Grand Budapest Hotel being one, I hated it, everyone loved it). The more people use it, the more the bogus scores are drowned out. I suppose the purpose of the bogus scores is to inflate the score when it is just released, so older items have a more accurate score.

That being said, it is a great resource for checking who has been in what and Trivia though.

The scores tell you how popular something is. I use it to rate everything Iโve watched, and everything I want to watch gets added to my watch list.

I've been told that you have to pay attention to (not that you don't), the end sequence with Blackadder and the Jester as the song plays. I think he gets more and more on BA's nerves with every episode. Something like that. The captain, btw was the legendary Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor Who and my personal favourite one. He is 90yrs old now (and has both legs). :)

Reddit for more general "opinionated" info like to see which software other people are using. Stack overflow for code. If all else fails then it's Google. "A lick of the cat" might be a reference to a Cat o' Nine tails (a whip) which sailors would use to punish the crew.

But as ridiculously popular as he was, it all hit the fan for him. When the Queen died he was falsely accused of trying to over throw the new King,James I. They didn't see eye to eye to begin with. James wanted diplomacy with Spain and Walter Raleigh was part of the British war against Spain. It wasn't true that he was trying to over throw him, but because Spain hated Walter Raleigh,to get in their good books, King James locked him up for 13 years! When he got out he went in search of the "golden city" of El Dorado. Unfortunately ,some of Walter Raleigh's men went and attacked an outpost belonging to Spain on their own free will. Raleigh got the blame and the Spanish ambassador wanted him dead for it. Of course again, King James needed to kiss more Spanish ass. So he was charged with treason and found guilty in a complete bs trial and got his head chopped off

Giving me 10 billion hits where what I am looking for is hidden in the mess of mostly irrelevant results is pointless. Add in SEO spamming of google search results and it gets even worse with many of the top results pointing you to AI written drivel. Google (and other search engines) are on their last legs. Reddit has the advantage of having fewer hits so at least you can find stuff. Plus the comments will let you know if the person is talking bollocks. AI just makes shite up all the time ("hallucinations" is just a wanky name for being wrong). There is no way to tell which bits are true and which are made-up, so it's by far the worst way to get reliable and accurate info.

I couldn't rewatch it for years until some reactors did it recently and I remembered just how good it was. Definitely recommended.
