So I started writing this blog post asking about the whole Sasha Banks thing. If you donβt know, everyone seems to think I look like Sasha Banks. I always get βYou know you look so much like Sashaβ or βYouβre a mini/the next Sasha Banksβ. Do they say this because our features are similar or just cause weβre both skinny and brown, I donβt know lol. I take it as a compliment, cause Sasha is really pretty and a really good wrestler~! But more importantly it sent my mind on a path of who I look up to in wrestling, and overall. Sasha was one of the first WWE women I was exposed to, and really she made me feel like someone who looked like me could become a wrestler~l. Since all Iβd watched up to that point was some Stardom matches, and, in terms of western wrestlingβ¦the divas era lol.
Iβm often asked about who Iβm inspired by in wrestling, or who my favourite wrestler is, and I can surely say that I look up women of Stardom~. When they wrestle their matches are so fluid, interesting and they always manage to pull of something that makes me think βWow!β If you havenβt watched them I really recommend it~! They manage to look super cute, and be the best wrestlers I've ever seen at the same time. Especially Iwatani Mayu. Hopefully, if I keep practicing, I can be that good too~! Their dedication to their craft, how nice they are to their fans, and how they keep fit and manage such a busy schedule...they set a really good example of what a great wrestler is~!
I hope people see me as a good example. I do my best to lead by example~! That's very important to me. The phrase 'do as I say, not as I do' isn't as effective as the older generation thinks it is~. Wrestler or not, we all need to set a good example for each other. Everyone seems to follow what the crowd is doing, so if we're all a good example, that will spread and we'll have a much nicer community~!
Everyone is an influence for someone, so let's all do our part to be the nicest we can be~!
