Thoughts on new animated chemical diagrams?
Added 2024-04-28 14:41:04 +0000 UTCHello everyone! I made a flow diagram animation to help visualize chemical synthesis reactions, and I've just made this one for the chemistry in car video. It still needs to be properly edited with zooming in for focus points and music and what not, and it's missing clips for reference, but so far I'm curious on peoples thoughts of the style and idea of it. Is it understandable and helpful?
Also, unfortunately I became sick with a virus near the start of April which took me out for weeks, so I haven't been as active lately. This past week I'm feeling a lot better and getting much more active again though!

Looks really good :3 This is really nice for me because I'm a chemistry novice at best x3

2024-04-28 18:45:09 +0000 UTCI like it. Only thing I can think of is to put the molecules into their own circles to differentiate them from each other.

2024-04-28 16:35:36 +0000 UTCThanks! oh yeah I tend to forget about it being diatomic lol. I've tried looking into how TCCA and HCL react, but it seems really complicated with nucleophiles and resonance structure effects. I think it's a bit beyond the scope of my video π . I've read that the exact reaction mechanism is unknown, so while it could be interesting to delve into, it wouldn't really answer anything for certain unfortunately. But I'll definitely try to fix that lonely Bromine haha

2024-04-28 15:22:21 +0000 UTCLove it! It helps this nonchemist link what's going on chemically with what's going on in the physical glassy bubbly bits. The anthropomorphism and wants and needs of the molecules, like the bromine screaming in reverse when it came back, made everything click for me.

2024-04-28 15:16:19 +0000 UTCI really like it, maybe correct that elemental bromine is Br2 at about 1:15 and onwards but otherwise it is really helpful! Perhaps you can get a bit more specific how TCCA and HCl can generate clorine gas.

2024-04-28 15:02:51 +0000 UTCIt's great! Makes it way easier to understand what's happening and actually see how each step of the process leads into the next!
