They say they can add 30% as an additional fee for iOS patrons and recommend that all Patreon set it up that way. I have no idea how many people use the Patreon app on Apple. The app is very limited on Android.
As the letter states, this is a forced move because of Apple's policy of requiring an increase in the AppStore fee for Patreon.
The new rules will go into effect in November. Nothing will change for current subscribers.
