The latest development news...
Over the past week I've rendered 3 story scenes. They are different locations, different characters. I resorted to Blender to change the objects, or rather retopology (changed the mesh for texture mapping (if that tells you anything)). I did it for the first time, but the result was very satisfactory. What did I do it for? As I wrote before, quality is critical to me, so I spend a lot of time to give the right look to objects, locations, characters. And I often use additional programs.
After re-reading the script the other day, I thought about adding another free roam event. Yes, it's extra work, but I think it would bring balance to the branching plot. But decisions aren't final yet, I'll keep thinking further.
This is the first time I've done animation of a car traveling at high speed entering a corner. It turned out to be not so easy. The difficulty was in conveying the physics of car movement, close to reality. It seemed to work.
Time was allocated for writing code as well. I finished one big scene and played it to see the result. I had to fiddle with animations from several frames, setting the right timings.
After two weeks of work, I can safely say that the pace of the game has progressed noticeably. I wrote last week what this is related to.
Have a fun and productive weekend everyone!
