REBORN: Status Update Act 3

The latest development news.

This week I've been doing everything at once, if I may say so. I continue writing dialog for the free movement scene and building the location. Unfortunately, I had less free time this week due to my main job (end of the year and shit).

Back to building the location - as I said earlier, it's a large mansion with many rooms. Its filling up big still because of the events that will take place there. Therefore, it is necessary to place a large number of props. As you know, I am very reverent about the process and every detail is important to me, be it the environment or the character. For the mansion, I changed the layout of the building and built a few extra rooms. Yes, it was necessary because that's how I envision the scene. I hope you will appreciate it in the future.

I reworked a few textures for the glowing objects. The large gold-colored disco ball was particularly challenging. It was important to convey its material and glow.

I also started experimenting with the appearance of some of the girls. As you saw in Act 2, I had already done similar things with Kaylie and Rebecca. And just like in life, characters' looks are influenced by many events or situations in the game. I want to breathe as much life into Reborn as possible.

Next week I plan to finish building the environments and finish writing the free movement scene. I think as soon as I do that, I'll start rendering that particular scene right away. It will be quite large, primarily because of the number of characters (there will be over 20 of them). Hopefully my video card will be able to handle it. If not, I'll figure something out either way. Even if it does take a little more time.

Some of you wrote to me about the difference in translation quality between Act 1 and Act 2. I think it's worth duplicating that information here.

The translation is better in Act 2 because I hired a professional translator. There are plans to do a translation of Act 1 as well, but I haven't saved up the necessary amount of money yet. A few posts ago I wrote about this: The translation of the second act cost me almost $600. The first act is shorter, but I think it will cost at least $450. As soon as as I get a chance, I will definitely send the text for translation.
