Patreon Changes — IT'S TIME.

I know we've been talking about it for a while, but it's finally time to put the new tiers into motion! Hopefully this post will tell you everything you need to know, but please don't hesitate to comment or message me if you have further questions.

What is happening?
My Patreon pledge tiers have changed. The $10, $20, and $50 tiers are now retired, and there are new $15 and $35 tiers. See my full Patreon profile for details on the new tiers.

Why is this happening?
It's become clear over the last few years that I can't fulfill the rewards I'm promising on a timely basis. I'm consistently behind, which isn't fair to you and also creates a ton of stress for me. These changes will help make reward fulfillment more achievable for me, and should help reward fulfillment happen more consistently and quickly.

What do I do if my tier was retired?
You will need to switch to a new tier. To do that, visit your pledges and edit your pledge to me. You will be charged immediately for the increased pledge. You can make that switch any time between now and June 1. (After June 1, it will start to cause logistical trouble for me, so I will begin bothering you about it more.)

What happens if I don't switch my tier?
Starting June 1, you will receive the rewards for the tier below your previous tier. So if you remain pledged at $20, you will be paying me $20, but you will be receiving the $15 rewards.

What if I want to pay more than my tier?
Then I appreciate your generosity! However, it will still be easier on me if you switch into one of the new tiers, and then adjust your amount manually from there. If you remain in an older tier, that changes where you're categorized in my Patron Manager and creates additional work when I am fulfilling rewards.

Which rewards will we get this month?
During this month (May), you will receive the old rewards. So if you started the month pledged at $20, you will receive the $20 rewards.

This all sounds like a big pain in the butt!
YEAH, pretty much! Changing rewards is a challenge no matter when and how you execute it. To make up for it, I'll do my best to really overdeliver on the rewards for this month. Thanks for your patience with me!

Aren't we still waiting on some rewards from previous months?
Yes! I am pushing through those still. I'm happy to give more detail about where I'm at on those rewards if anyone wants to know the nitty gritty. Just let me know! I'm aiming to be fully caught up on rewards by the end of June.

Patreon is telling me I can't access some older posts that I should have access to.
Unfortunately, when you introduce new tiers, all past posts that were set to only be accessible to specific tiers automatically exclude that new tier. This means that I'm slowly going through all my old posts, manually updating their permissions. I've fixed all the posts made in 2019, but older posts will take some time to correct.

• New "Patron Perks" button at the bottom of my "About" section! This can be your go-to link if you ever forget how to access any of your perks, like the shop discount or the Patron-only Instagram or Discord.
