Pike’s underlayer is done!

Last night and this morning, I focused on Pike’s blouse. It’s made of white and blue scuba knit. I followed my own pattern block for the body, and modified a vintage puff sleeve pattern to make the paned sleeves. It won’t need to be ironed (yay!) but absolutely does not breathe and will be very hot (nooo!)

I’m nearly out of excuses before I have to work on the armor, haha!

Ahh. Of course. I didn't even think of "make another one" or "other fabrics exist". Always good to learn about a new blind spot. ^_^ The answer is appreciated.

It would be much easier to just make it from a more breathable fabric, haha. If I were going to modify it to make it cooler, I would just make a version 2. As it is, part of my issue is simply that I'm fabric shopping online, so I'm having to pick fabrics that I KNOW will not wrinkle and will have the weight I want, even if that means fabrics that won't necessarily be the most comfortable. This is less an issue of needing a solution or needing ingenuity, and more an issue of operating under constraints.

The artwork’s foot placement keeps making me think she’s about to establish her superiority in riverdance.

The poofy sleeves look great. Bummer about the fabric not breathing. That's making me ponder whether "stealth vents" or "hidden mesh" can be a thing. (Because I overthink EVERYTHING... aaaand then forget a lot of it.)
