"Come In" — Original mermaid song demo!
Added 2020-08-22 17:47:20 +0000 UTCHey friends, just talked about this in the Patron stream and wanted to share it! I wrote an original mermaid song based on the idea that I wanted a song that a mermaid would sing to lure a sailor to a watery grave.
As I mentioned on the stream, the lackluster performance of Jolly Sailor Bold has me worried that it doesn't make sense to do a full production of this song as a music video, although I'm musing on the idea of at least releasing a lyrics video... either way, I wanted to share this demo with you. This is just something I threw together myself, so it's not professionally mixed/mastered and I think there's a bit where you can hear my phone buzz on the desk, haha.
....also this is not a big deal, but in the final version of the lyrics, I have the chorus saying "it's wide and deep," not "warm and deep," since at least one verse refers to the water as "cool"... but in the rough I say "warm." Which annoys me now, haha. SO IGNORE THAT.
