Sign up for the 2020 Secret Santa!

It’s time for the 2020 Secret Santa exchange! This was so much fun last year and I’m so excited to bring it back, this time with a ton of support from a magnificent mod team to make sure it runs smoothly.

Key Info

• September 15 – exchange opens
• October 15 – Last day to sign up
• November 30 – Last day to send gifts
• Minimum spend (not including shipping) – $25 USD

How to Participate

1. Click the “Sign Up” link

2. Create an Elfster account if you don’t already have one.

• The name you enter will be potentially visible to everyone in the exchange. 
• If this is an issue and you want to use a nickname, the admin team can let your Santa know your mailing name. Please message the organizer of the event or an assistant through Elfster!
• Your address will be visible to the administrators and your Santa.

If you’re signing up, you agree that both of these things are okay and that you will only use the information here for Santa purposes.

3. Sign up for the exchange! Decide if you’re willing to ship internationally.

• If you are the only one from your country, you will need to ship internationally to participate.
• You can change this selection at any time before the names are drawn. A test draw will be done before the selection is finalized. If your shipping selection prevents you from getting a match, you will be contacted and allowed to decide whether you want to change your selection or opt out of the exchange.

This is imperfect but we’ll see how it goes and try to make everyone as happy as possible! Don’t forget you can try to use Etsy or the internet in general to find shops local to your giftee to save on shipping if you need to.

4. Provide information for your Santa! There are a few ways to do this.

• Answer the provided icebreaker questions that feel relevant. Note that your answers will be visible to all in the exchange. Your Santa can later send you anonymous questions in a similar format — these will also be visible to all in the exchange 
• Adding a few interests or general wishes to your wishlist. You can select “add without a link” to add things like “Dice” or “Jester is my favorite CR character” to give your Santa some guidance. You can also add a wishlist link or specific items, but we don’t want anyone to feel obligated to purchase specific items. You can make your wishlist public, or visible only within our exchange.
• Consider adding your Discord name (if you have one) as your nickname.
• If there is any information that you don’t want the whole group seeing (such as responses to questions or your social media handles), you can pass information anonymously through the organizer or a helper. Please remember that these are volunteer positions so we may not always be online!

Names will be drawn October 16. After that, your Santa can send you anonymous questions. You aren’t obligated to answer them, but it can be fun and also helpful! They may pop up on the Activity feed for the exchange, so keep that in mind. All gifts must be shipped by November 30! Please provide tracking information if possible.
