Adventurer's Kitchen #3!

IT IS HERE. The third (and most likely final, sorry...) episode of Adventurer's Kitchen.

I'll talk about this more in-depth in this weekend's stream, I suspect, but here's the short version: There are definitely things I could've done better with these videos to make them more successful (not launching them during YouTube's deadest season; titling/thumbnailing/framing them in a more compelling way; making them more consistently and closer together to allow time for people to fall in love with them; etc.), and I could also give you reasons why I didn't do all those things (I didn't know it was a dead season at the time; I make weekly videos and thus literally cannot dedicate more than a week to any given video without hugely disrupting my schedule; Josh has his own extremely busy life and is not perpetually available to film with me; etc.) but in the end, the bottom line is that this series just... didn't take off!

I know there are a lot of people who really loved this series, and I'm gonna be honest with you, if I really loved making them, I would probably keep doing them — either accepting their low performance, or making them Patron exclusive. But the fact is that while filming them is really fun, editing them is seriously difficult. Editing an episode of Adventurer's Kitchen takes me, on average, 3-4 times longer than editing my average video, and to do that for such low return is pretty painful.

It was a fun experiment, and maybe someday if I hire an editor and have a cinematographer on hand for projects like this, I'll try it again, or something like it. But for now, this is the end of Adventurer's Kitchen. Thank you for coming along for the ride!

Sorry to hear they didn't get as much traction as you were hoping, I do enjoy these, but I also understand the shoot/edit balance. A lot more b-roll and cut footage for something like this. I'll be happy to see them again if they make a comeback someday, but I also look forward to seeing whatever you do next!

While I’ll be sad to see them no more, there’s no need to apologize, it was an experiment that didn’t work as hoped, that is all. And for the record y’all are such a Cute Couple!!!
