Jester & the Cupcake
Added 2021-07-29 22:21:39 +0000 UTCLast spring, a YouTuber called Graphite asked me if I'd be willing to record some of Jester's lines from the infamous cupcake scene (C2 E93) for their Poor Unfortunate Souls parody! It was an easy enough thing to do and I thought the lyrics were fantastic, so I did it! I was just cleaning out my Google Drive and found the file I sent them and thought I'd share it.
I directly referenced Laura's performance in the episode for these, and it was a fun exercise to remind myself of all the different tones and feelings that Jester's voice can move through. (It's easy to just kind of "settle in" to an impression that might not be as accurate as it could be!) I'd love to do something referencing this iconic scene, but all my ideas are waaaay too involved and would be super difficult to execute, haha. Maybe someday...

Thank you!! Honestly, the two biggest obstacles are the interior set build that would be required for the hag's hut (even a composite would require some really intense digital scene crafting that is outside of my realm of expertise) and the high-level skills in the areas of both special effects makeup and acting that would be necessary to bring the hag herself to life. I tried to strategize around all this last fall, but in the end I felt that the budget it would demand was far beyond how worthwhile it would be to create. Maybe someday I'll find a better way!
