Changes to Patreon Rewards for 2022!

Hey friends! I'm making some changes to Patreon rewards for 2022 — really just two, but they're two big changes! These changes will go into effect on February 1. If you have any questions, feel free to comment or send me a DM!

Introducing "Club Di"

As I change the way I offer merchandise, the 25% shop discount reward is no longer going to be possible. (Your 25% discount will still work in my shop for as long as this particular shop remains active.) So to replace it, I'm introducing a Patron-exclusive shop called Club Di! 

Here are a few "Club Di" logo concepts Jackie and I are working on!

This shop will be hosted on my website on a password-protected page. Three types of items will be available in this shop:

• Exclusive items — merch items that will only ever be available for Patrons to buy
• Early-access items — merch items that will eventually be offered in my public shop
• Di-ety tier rewards — rewards from the Di-ety tier will be available for individual purchase after the month they were originally offered to the Di-ety tier

These items will be offered "while supplies last" (except for digital items, which will stay up for the whole year) although popular items may be restocked! A few new items will be introduced every month on top of the Di-ety rewards.

Just like the 25% discount, access to this shop will be available to all tiers!

Di-ety Tier

Based on survey responses, changing themes in my work, and changes to my own capacity, the Di-ety tier is being completely scrapped and rebuilt! All current rewards are being replaced. The new Di-ety rewards will be based on a different one of my original characters each month:

• NPC character sheet — Backstory, personality, tips for including them in your game, and a full stat block with special abilities
• Bonus D&D digital download — A character-related PDF download, like magic items, monsters, or an encounter
• Enamel pin — One of a matching set of 11 enamel pins designed by Jackie Linayao (the designer behind my annual calendar!)
• Sticker sheet — A page of character-themed stickers

These rewards will be delivered monthly to every Patron in the Di-ety tier (yes, even internationally!)

FAQ

If I want to change tiers, when should I do it?

If you want to change to a lower tier, you should do it as soon as possible, ideally before the end of January! If you wait until February, you will be charged for your current tier on February 1.

If you want to change to a higher tier, you should wait until February to do it. You will be charged automatically on February 1 for your current tier. Then you can scale up to your preferred tier, and you will be charged the difference and immediately have access to the new tier's rewards and posts.

What if I have an annual membership?

If you have an annual membership, changing tiers is a bit more complicated. If you move to a higher tier, you will essentially be starting a new year-long pledge at the new, higher tier. You cannot move to a lower tier. Here is some more information on annual memberships.

If you want to leave your current tier due to the reward changes, please direct message me or email me at ginny@ginnydi.com and we can process a refund, either through Patreon or through another platform depending on when you made your initial annual pledge.

Can I opt out of mailed rewards in the Di-ety tier?

Yes! If you want to opt out of mailed rewards, you can mark that in your pledges page by editing your shipping address and checking the option that says "I prefer not to receive benefits from Ginny Di through the mail."

If Di-ety rewards are offered in Club Di, why would anyone pledge to the Di-ety tier?

You guys probably wouldn't phrase this quite so harshly, haha, but it's a valid question! There are two answers: First, if you want to buy every single reward through Club Di, you will end up paying more! The Di-ety tier not only gives you all the mailed rewards with the cost of shipping included, but it also includes all the rewards in the tiers listed below it. If you know you'll want the Di-ety rewards every month, it will be cheaper to pledge at that tier than to buy from the shop.

Second, your first pledge to the Di-ety tier will also include a collectible custom Club Di bag as a one-time reward, for you to put all your pins on (if you want!) This will be a zippered cloth bag with the Club Di logo on it. My brain is telling me "dice bag!" but you can use it for many purposes! This bag is only available to Di-ety pledges and will not be for sale in the shop.

What kinds of items will be available through Club Di?

Great question! I'm hoping to introduce 2-3 new items into Club Di every month, in addition to the Di-ety rewards from the previous month. We'll probably start small with items like stickers, patches, keychains, tote bags, etc. Depending on sales volume, we may be able to start offering some bigger ticket items like mugs, blankets, or even sized clothing (potentially as pre-orders). We may also be able to offer merch items that you guys request!

This will all depending on how many sales Club Di is making — at this point I'm not really sure if I should be expecting 10 sales a month or 100, and that will make a big impact on what items we can offer and at what prices! In short: We'll play it by ear, and this is the kind of thing we can chat about during monthly livestreams as the year unfolds.

Will Di-ety members get access to previous months' digital rewards?

Yes! If you pledge to the Di-ety tier in, say, June, you will be able to download the digital items from February through May, as well as the digital rewards for June. If you want the previous months' physical rewards, you will need to order them through Club Di.

Do Di-ety pledges still get a free annual calendar?

This is a question I can't actually answer yet, which is why it's been removed from the reward listing! I'm looking at a few different options for printing and distributing calendars next year, and depending on what I pick, it may be difficult or even impossible for me to provide free calendars to Di-ety pledges. I'll keep you guys updated as we get closer to that time!
