Suppliers List 2024 (Update)
Added 2024-09-21 14:41:28 +0000 UTCFinding good suppliers can be hard, but here is an updated worldwide list of suppliers of flavour compounds. I will be doing more videos using these types of compounds as it offers many unique opportunities for creating interesting flavours. As you may have noticed, I've been making videos on how to work and understand them. I'm laying the groundwork for where we are going.
It should be noted that I have no relationship with any of these companies other than ordering from some. And I have not been sponsored by any of them.
The original supplier list can be found here and is still valid.

Shipping
Shipping can be expensive, especially with tariffs and customs clearance fees, but some of these companies offer free shipping (still require customs fees, etc.). I've ordered items from all over the world, and typically, a $250 order incurs an additional $50 in customs clearance fees (tax, tariff and courier clearance fee).
If you need to identify compounds that can be used in flavour development, here is a video I made to help you Identify those compounds: https://youtu.be/LH6kcm4YPmw
The first few suppliers are companies I have ordered from and received products from. I've given my general experience with the orders. The additional suppliers I haven't ordered from, but are provided based on some recommendations from Patreons as well as the general opinion of the perfume world.
If you have a supplier you want to share, please post it in the comments section. And as usual, if you have questions or comments, post those as well, or you can comment in the Patreon-only section of the Discord server under suppliers: https://discord.gg/yHugkfVC7Y
The List
New Directions Aromatics (CA, US, AUS)
This has been my go-to company for essential oils for 15 years. I deal with the Canadian branch, but their shipping and products are good, and I've never had an issue with them.

https://www.newdirections.com.au (Australia/Pacific)
https://newdirectionsuk.com (UK & EU)
Sunrise Botanicals (Canada)
This is another Canadian company (ships worldwide), and they have some harder-to-find essential oils and absolutes. Many of their absolutes are less expensive than other companies, and the quality is excellent.

Fraterworks (NZ - Worldwide)
I've placed three orders with this company, and everything is of high quality, from the ingredients to the packaging and shipping. I will be ordering more from Fraterworks as they have some unique ingredients that are hard to find and excellent quality.
My Skin Recipes (Bangkok, Thailand / Worldwide)
This company provides a lot of different ingredients, not just flavour compounds but emulsifiers, preservatives and high intesity sweeteners (sucralose, neotame, etc). They have the largest selection of ingredients on this list and if you need something specific, this is a good place to start. There are lots of positive reviews, and the packaging is excellent. They do charge for shipping and it can take a little extra time for items to ship, but overall a solid supplier.
Perfumers World (Thailand / Worldwide)
I've placed two orders with this company. They offer free shipping on orders over $100 US, and they ship within a few days. The bottles are well packaged, with no leaks, and they have a large selection of well-priced compounds.

BulkAroma (India)
I've placed four orders with Bulk Aroma and both have been good. They have a good selection of products and reasonable pricing, especially if you are ordering larger volumes. It can take about a week to get the products out the door and another two weeks to arrive, but the items are really well packaged, with no leaks and no missed items.
Perfumers Apprentice / Flavor Apprentice (US/Worldwide)
This company ships from the US and typically ships the same day. To date, they have never made a mistake on an order, nor has there ever been a leaking bottle. The packaging is top-notch, and the ingredients are of good quality.

Perfume Supply House (US)
I've placed two orders with this company and so far so good. The shipping is slower; it typically takes a week to get the products out the door, but they have some harder-to-find ingredients. Prices are higher than other companies.

Others
Penta Manufacturing
I haven't ordered from here yet, but I plan to in the future. They don't have a minimum volume and are a family-run business. They also have a large selection of compounds and indicate the FEMA numbers where applicable.

Comments
Hello, For dried herbs/spices there are many places, I use Sunrise Botanicals in Canada, but Mountain Rose in the US has a good reputation. As for chemical compounds, Amazon works, but for harder to fine compounds https://www.marknature.com is a good source.

2024-10-25 17:02:57 +0000 UTCHi Darcy, thanks for this list. I was wondering if you had any recommended suppliers that ship internationally to Japan for (food-grade): 1. Dried herbs like cinchona bark 2. Chemicals like Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Citrate 3. Acacia powder

2024-10-24 07:45:13 +0000 UTCAdding my experience with Perfumers World, not positive. I placed a several hundred dollar order with them and while shipping was fast I did have an issue where one of the containers' lids was defective or something and leaked everywhere (of course it had to be the diacetyl, very pungent and distinct odor lol). I messaged and emailed them about the issue and got totally ghosted. Has been nearly two weeks and multiple attempts so it's not a time zone issue and they had no problem replying to me on a question before. It's not really the fact that my diacetyl vial was ruined and empty, it was only $7 worth of it, just the principle of getting ignored after they got my money. Won't order from them again.
